I grew up in Ireland, and most of the nuns there were more concerned with beating children and profiting from slave labour than any kind of SJW activity. Catholicism, so diverse!

Pretty sure I was including all religions in my statement, not just Judaism.

Yeah, but most American Jews aren’t Orthodox. This synagogue was founded in reaction to the Reform movement, so it’s bound to attract the worst of the theological worst.

A religious institution behaving according to bronze-age morals? I am shocked!

I’m 289 at the moment, and recently I have noticed that blues and purples don’t seem to be higher light than each other on average. I bought a 280 purple with my saved-up tokens, and then I got a 295 blue to replace it about 10 minutes later.

I sort of wish they hadn’t done that - it makes for a bunch of time-consuming busywork every time you go to the cryptarch, sort of like how you had to equip all your not-maxed-out gear before turning in bounties.

Something something lesbians commitment u-hauls something.

It’s not that different. Looks like the problem was the writing after all.

It might have paid for half a semester of college when the kid gets there (assuming current rates of fee increases).

Clearly, my leaving cert was a long time ago.

MacBeth was the play I studied for my Leaving Certificate (high school leaving exam, for the Yanks). I’ve read it and chewed on it more than any other Shakespeare work. I thought this would mean I couldn’t get excited for yet another screen adaptation.

In Ireland, where I grew up, cops are not scary. In Germany, where I lived for a few years, cops are not scary. Same with Norway, where I spend a reasonable amount of time.

Now playing

I love mashups of folk musics from different continents, and I particularly love Bulgarian harmonising. Also love this movie. Here’s some Bulgarian choral music without Japanese stuff mixed in:

It’s also the only setting where the “Templars vs Assassins” thing isn’t so inherently goofy.

I wonder what its breakeven point is. The game is fucking huge - I worked on a much, much smaller game than that, and the breakeven was 2 million. TW3 is more than 3 times bigger than our game, so it is possible they haven’t made their money back yet.

100% with you on your thesis there - even in WeHo, to be honest. That was a bit of fun. It seems really weird to me that the reviewer would praise the dialogue etc., only to then say “this should be porn”. Perhaps he cares about the snappiness of porn dialogue far more than I do.

I can’t find anything to disagree with there. For the record, I’m also not saying it was certainly terrible - just that it might have been.

This screenplay was judged to be in the top 5% of over 7,000 works submitted.

Depends if he lives in WeHo or not. Also, it depends on how terrible her dialogue was.

Given that Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy, it’s not like they’re going to be voting in a new ruler or anything. I wonder what sorts of posts in Saudi are elected ones.
