I have doubts this movie will give me the kind of T'Challa/Ross friendship I want, but every other thing looks great.

Hey, I'd be willing to be on the show too. Just in case anyone was wondering.

I am not actually familiar with Reign, so at least I will be getting some new stories and not be aware when/if they stray annoyingly far from the source material.

"Hey Strong Sad, I like your Dr. Zaius Applying For a Bank Loan costume."

To be fair, i would still enjoy those cameos.

I was thinking that if I were in charge of the next season of Supergirl, I would have tried to scale things down a bit with an organized crime arc for the season. It would have made sense to have Maggie around for that. I am staring to think I might not end up in charge of Supergirl in time for next season.

Like Fry! Like Fry!

Ha! Thanks.

Agreed totally. I do feel like I can more successfully find a Batman story that stays in its own corner of the universe than I can a modern Superman that does, but I probably haven't actually put the effort in. I bet it is equally frustrating.

"Not unreasonable" is the closest anyone has come to agreeing with me, so I'll take it!
At least the races with the Flash were from those days when the crossovers were still a special event.

I can't speak for everyone, but I do it because I enjoy doing it.

Yeah! Let's get working on this. I'll see if I can remember some of the qbasic I learned in high school…

Question: Is there anyone out there who agrees that the Superman franchise is just better off without Batman or, really, the DC Universe at all. I have never seen anyone else espouse this view, but it holds true to me. I got into Superman through the Reeve movies and Lois and Clark, neither of which had DC universes

I've always had this idea for an open-world Superman game where you are presented with a Metropolis as corrupt as it was in the Golden Age, when practically politician was evil right down to every orphanage being a criminal enterprise, and through both superheroing and journalism you can choose missions turn that city

I got to this discussion late, so all the best things have already been said, but I am definitely on the side of those who point out that Superman was created during a time of great corruption to say "What if there was someone with power, and they actually used it for good." Mentally, I equate Superman with Star Trek

While I do, after a first watch, feel like things were a little rushed in there, I do have nothing but respect for the fact they were willing to give up like half a minute to the Scotsman listing his daughters joke.

I admit that when I learned Jones was playing an alien, I got my hopes up for something less humanoid than standard Star Trek fare.

Eleven named Krypto, but five named Superman…

Yeah, I was thinking of them being used primarily for those scenes where they want a splash of action at the start of an episode but it isn't about the main plot, which is basically what you described.

It would be lessened if we could get more superhero action set pieces that didn't involve fighting criminals. If we had more set pieces that involved, say, heroes rescuing people from burning buildings or other natural disasters instead of everything needing to be about beating up crooks.
