Thank you for saying it :) I’m a little worried, you know? It’s been two months, and I think I lost about 10 pounds, and I just feel so strange about my own weight (which my babbling about it in the comments probably shows, doesn’t it?), and I’m excited to be my “normal” size again.

Actually it’s still pretty split. I see a lot of hand wringing but from the conservative people I know tend to post a lot of the “if addiction is a disease so you can get free narcan then why isn’t chemo free?” memes.

The crack epidemic was all about solving the scourge of the imaginary “crack babies”. They didn’t even pretend to care about the crack addicts because they weren’t white enough.

There’s one difference: during the height of the crack epidemic there was a lot of news about “crack babies” born to addicts, people donated time and money to hep them. Today the news only talks about kids being orphaned due to opioids when a politician is trying to ensure gay people can’t adopt them.

The one constant between the opioid and crack epidemics: the CIA is a major player in running the drugs so that they can pay to do stuff so fucked up that not even congresscritters can rationalize it.

Actually many republicans put out statements and Tweets stating an unconditional condemnation of white supremacists and Nazis, BUT, and this is important, DID NOT DIRECTLY CRITICIZE Trump. It alluded to it, but they did not confront Trump head on. They have been doing that for a long time now; being coy. It was not

“mindful of the fact that nobody likes being relegated to a section near the basement bathroom.” so they are moving them to be mixed with other sizes? why does it need to have a special department?

I’ve got an even more dispiriting theory: Republicans don’t have a problem with what Trump said, only HOW he said it. They have been using dog whistles to half obscure their racism for a very long time. Part of the reason why (delusional) people seem to believe that racism is over is because many people have enough

They’re blindly devoted to putting party over country and have been ever since November 2008.

Sadly, the reasons are much simpler than that. Republicans are all relying on Drumpf to either help get them re-elected or to help them pass pork barrel legislation that will benefit their wealthy donors, so this is really all about personal gain.

does that mean that the men’s big & tall sizes will be called “cuddly sized”?

It blows my mind that beauty pageant contestants and Teen Vogue can say stuff the mainstream media cannot.

Today I learned that Kmart still exists

Elephant uber alles

Hah, that’s one way to put it!

Very stupid question - why does it have to be called a different thing?

Maybe when they stop using sweatshop labor and deliver goods that last longer than a single wash cycle we should applaud. Until then this is some straight up nonsense.

Here’s what few people will acknowledge. Apart from his rhetoric and embarrassing missteps, Trump has governed as a doctrinaire establishment Republican in almost every respect. He has stacked his Cabinet with the GOP Old guard, aggressively pursued their tax and deregulatory agenda, and loyally nominated right wing

Yes. They make a weak-sauce condemnation, but then line up to kiss his fat orange ass a few days later. I swear he must have some dirt on these people to have them keep falling in line. Either that or they’re blindly devoted to putting their party before country. It’s really disheartening.

not to put too fine a point on it, but when the beauty pageant contestants and the comedians are the ones calling out the racist and inflammatory rhetoric of our president and not, oh I dunno, OTHER GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, then there seems to be something deeply amiss with our country
