No, it was an old farming community and the walmart was in the hub town. Walmart did a fine job of pushing out every other small business, so they and the 2 screen movie theater were all that was left when I was around.

And EVERYONE did it. Young, old, middleish, new partners, old married folk, whatever. Walmart was a ‘happening scene’ and my granFanda refused to go on Saturdays because of the fighting.

The thing that astonishes me is how many of my friends on here are in/around/from these areas. Like, I’ve been preparing myself for a lifestyle of the friendless stranger, but hell. Most of the people I talk to anyway are within an hour of our target area. 

I thought it was thundersnow at the time, too! Honestly, it sounded just like a heavy spring rain, thunder but no wind, and a torrential downpour so loud it woke us at 3am. But alas, in the morning we discovered a thick layer of what looked like snow and acted like the ice that builds up inside a freezer: thundersleet!

That sounds like my early adulthood experience, actually. Bunch of Mennonites in mid-missouri, but they mostly drive black automobiles. Mostly. lol

I’m a KC jezzie but in similar circumstances. We got some bullshit called ‘thundersleet’ a couple days ago and the weather hasn’t warmed up to clear anything. Today we got a bright, sunny day for about 5 hours, so a bunch of sleet melted and refroze into clear murder ice. We have a quarter inch of sleet expected again…

If you’re in the US then your workplace is required to not release medical information on you to coworkers. It’s a HIPPA violation. Keep up the good work in therapy. Everything you put in improves your long-term success!
