Not always true. On my most recent new car purchase, the dealer sliced some $5k off the Monroney and gave me a 60mo 0% financing on top of it. No matter how I slice it I got $5k off the car. Good deal considering manufacturer rebates were only $500 at the time, too.

That’s not true in this case. It was a new F150 and it included all of the discounts offered by ford. In addition, it was the cheapest available truck with the options that we wanted within the southeast. The financing was offered specifically by Ford as an ongoing promotion that did not exclude us from other options.

0% for 6 years for us. I would have been crazy NOT to take it. If anybody wants to loan me that much money with no interest for 72 months then I’ll be 100% all over that 😀

I quit reading the instant you compared the share price of one company to another, as if that has any bearing whatsoever on the value of a company or its future.

They are building what people want, not need. Thats why crossovers, full sized trucks, and SUVs sell so well.

My truck loses about 40% range when towing my boat and its ICE powered, so there is that.

This is a halo car- its not designed to replace any of our current ICE models. This is just the first vehicle that GM is releasing to that end, and maybe in 10 years we’ll actually have a vehicle that you could do that project car-run in. Until that point, we might as well do what our Lord and Savior Bob Lutz intended…
