Over-engineered, but I’ll be damned if I didn’t just seriously consider flying to Flo-Rida to buy it.

I think Rivian will start pumping out their trucks first this year, but I wouldn’t call them being “mass produced” on the same level as ICE truck production. I just can’t see Tesla making Cybertrucks within the next year due to their factory’s stage of building in Austin. GM will make Hummers as fast as they can, so I

Texan here. Most of the non-work trucks around here are at LEAST Lariat F-150s or a comparable Chevy/GMC/Ram package. In fact, I’d say I see more KRs than Lariats.

“Alright Mr. Bateman, we just started your oil change, but it looks like your brakes have been squealing because someone added aftermarket brake pads to your wife’s car. We need to change those out.”

Dear Wisconsonite,

Did you just say that the government should have forced people to wrap their pipes better? Or are you saying that the government should force people to build indestructible houses that can stand up to any weather, no matter how rare it occurs?

My house is less than ten years old. It’s a Perry Home, in a nice subdivision in the ‘burbs. My pipes didn’t burst, I kept power the entire week. About 2/3rds of my neighbors, however, had their sprinkler pipes pop, thus they had to shut off the water to their homes until it was repaired. Others had the main line

Allow me to shed some light on this a bit more: most of our houses, here in Texas, have water pipes going into the building from the outside. It’s literally a PVC pipe that goes from the ground, up 18 or so inches, and into the house. That’s what froze in most cases, and it doesn’t matter what your heater is set at.

If you’d like to know why truck owners feel the need to defend their buying decisions, please refer to some of the first responses to your comment. “Selfishness”, “thin-skinned”, “bane on society”. I would like to extend those terms to anyone who is not driving a SMALL EV that is recharged using only renewable energy

Just to be clear, most pipes burst in Texas because it was cold and homes in Texas are built to combat heat, not single digit temperatures. The power plants’ inability to stay active during the weather had little to do with it.

I remember the first time I saw a lane splitting motorcyclist go between cars and through an intersection because he was in a hurry.

...now watch me jam out with my bongo drums.

YOU SEE?!  YOU CAN’T DO THIS TO STARS ON THEIR HOME TURF!  THE BOSS WILL MAKE HIM PAY!!

Regardless of the facts, Officer Hayes will have a hard time in his home state in the foreseeable future. Arresting Springsteen in New Jersey? That’s like arresting McConaughey in Aust...

Cool truck.

Also, if any of the edgier content contributors are reading, THIS IS ACTUAL JALOPNIK STUFF WE WANT TO READ ABOUT.

I’m having a very evil thought right now, Mercedes. Down right DIABOLICAL

You having a bad week, Raph?

Awesome.  That comment was for the folk like you.  I knew I’d get a fair share of the casual readers who didn’t understand what I was doing, but it’s good my work was not done in vain.

VW would do better being the company that gives us the first full-size all-electric SUV with meaningful range; something desirable. Something VW could show off. Something that isn’t even available at the BMW dealership on the other side of town. I’m not sure that image is achievable if VW is still selling
