I wonder if Elon knows that you’ve figured out how they can make an additional $500MM without a “radical restructuring”? You should probably let him know, that’s something he’d probably enjoy.

I’m actually locked and loaded for that inevitable comment, and it has something to do with comparing Price/Book Value to other tech companies.
No. That cost goes under their expenses. It’s called a line item, just like revenue from selling regulatory credits.
I agree. The tax incentives come into play to help keep their costs lower than they should be right now. But the savings doesn’t equate to revenue.
The market works in ways that most don’t realize, but yes, it work.
So, I want to clarify that making vehicles and batteries alone didn’t push them into the black. Fanboy less and look at raw data.
First Gear: While it is an accomplishment for Tesla to break into the black for four quarters in a row, what got them there was the $428 Million in regulatory credits they sold to other companies in the 2nd quarter alone. Regardless, within the rules of corporate accounting, they made a profit.
Alternate Headline:
DO IT FOR THE ‘GRAM!!!
However you want to see the world, you see it that way.
Depends on who’s paying for the new tires/whatever else breaks while doing that.
I’ve driven Jeeps with V8s crammed in them before, and with the normal six banger. While the V8 is fun and loud and attracts attention, the smaller engine is what will get you out of trouble/up a rocky incline without destroying the suspension at higher RPM and speeds (yes, even in 4L).
Not really. Just quoting the facts.
I can’t really go into detail about the reports I’m getting this information from, or their exact forecasts, but I’m not pulling that call out of my ass. Blame the SEC (I like my job, so I won’t break the rules).
Two points:
A. I agree with everything you just said, and my company has me and every single one of my peers in a WFH situation, and
The US government has already pumped $1.2 Billion into the UK’s vaccine with AstraZeneca for 300 million doses of the first billion vaccines. At this point, the US is basically a partner; whoever the president-elect is come mid-November matters not.
4th Gear: Mary is probably closer to correct than incorrect. While the US is being ravaged by the pandemic, other 1st world countries are much further down the road in the cycle/have done much better than we have in containing the ‘Rona.
