Well, it was designed by Subaru. Had it been built by Toyota it probably would have failboated like all their other cars in this test (mostly poor, a couple marginals, and maybe one acceptable)

Now playing

To further add to this, none of these tests actually test more nuanced crashes (different angles, cars of different heights, etc.) But Volvo does. There's a reason their entire brand is based on the reputation of uncompromising safety:

I like these tests because it exposes the automakers who make cars just to pass the known tests rather than make cars for real world survivability.

Volvo and Subaru do that.

Volvo and Subaru both did really well with these new tests. Why? Because they design their cars to do well in the real world, not just to pass a handful of test conditions performed in a giant laboratory like most of the other automakers. Any surprise the FRS (which was designed by Subaru) did reasonably well for a

Because the people Israel did not vote in a terrorist group who use their own citizens as human shields. The Palestinians did, so the onus is on them to overthrow Hamas. Until that happens, they'll continue to lie in the bed that they made.

LOL because I don't buy American cars I hate America? Wow, I don't even. Go ahead and go up to a Vet who drives an import and ask them why they hate America, why don't you.

Mechanically still the same I believe, so from a performance perspective no change.

For one thing the Mazda3 doesn't have an LSD and is really more of a nice commuter than a car with some sporting aspirations.

Perhaps the competition has realized that a turbo-4 offers better performance? Could it be that the competition has just passed Honda by while they continue to raid the parts bin to try and keep the Si relevant?

If I can do it in Gran Turismo, Honda can do it in the real world.

Please point me to a 2200 pound car with 325 hp for under $100K.

And yet domestics have lagged behind Japanese cars in dependability surveys for quite a while now. I guess Honda computers are just more reliable and built better than GM computers?

To be fair the 9th generation Civic interior even with the redesign feels really cheap, especially when compared to the 8th generation.

Also no useable torque provided ;).

Just curious, was yours a 2013 or 2014? I thought about getting a FST too, but it would have been during the first model year, they were going for over sticker, and I'm still on the fence over whether Ford has put their build quality woes behind them.

Maybe because over the past couple decades domestic car makers have had a less than stellar reputation when it comes to reliability, business practices, and the ability to stay afloat without government intervention. A bad reputation is hard to shrug off.

Reliability. That's about it, unless you realllllllly want VTEC.

Not a problem for a diesel :)

I'd sooner expect a V8 in a Civic than a switch RWD (in other words never).
