The hummed versions of the songs are A+ too.

I suspect the real problem with the ME3 ending is that it tries to go from the personal (the ME2 ending + most of the game) to the epic (the fate of the entire galaxy forever!!!!), and the game does not handle that shift particularly gracefully.
I didn't mind the ending as much as most people, and I think people lost sight of the fact that it was amazing how much your choices in the first two games *did* matter in things like resolving the genophage for the Krogan and the Geth vs. Quarian conflict.
I agree that they're really great opportunities to role play, but I always feel like Telltale puts unnecessary weight on their choices. Or what I can tell from just The Wolf Among Us
I picked up Saint's Row 4 this week, though I'm pretty busy up until my vacation, so I might not get to play it much until New Year.
I think Twitch Plays Pokemon was the video game community at its finest: silly, creative, and joyous. I loved how unabashedly excited and happy people were about it.
Oh yeah. That was how I ended up playing it, too. I did have some fun with the marriage and cheating drama, but I never could figure out how to have fun with it the way I had fun with my toys growing up. Or maybe it just hooked into my gamer brain, and I just focused on completing as many major and minor tasks as…
Yeah, I feel like that disconnect has been there for a while. See: the bafflement over the critics talking about Mountain and/or Gone Home.
Sometimes I re-read Tevis Thompson's On Videogame Reviews to remind myself how much further we have to go in terms of game critique as well.
I guess people are sick of other people being sick of AAA games. I get the feeling that when you're a game reviewer, every time another shooty actionfest gets put in front of you, you just sigh and resign yourself to trying to find something, anything that makes it stand out so you can write about that.
Yeah, I like that Oliver is being positioned as someone who won't take Connor's crap. It's pretty much a 180 from how he was introduced.
Yeah, I don't think they had sex. I'm pretty sure it's all the same morning. Connor apparently shows up at Oliver's place at 6:30 the morning after the murder, and then later on that same morning, he gets called into the office to talk to the police. It seems like there's some calming down/showering in there, but…
I do agree that the hostility comes from women coming into the spaces in larger numbers than ever before, and that a large part of the anger comes from 'why are there new people in my treehouse?'
So, while I do applaud these shows for featuring women in technical roles, I feel like part of the problem is that the shows themselves are frequently terrible at writing nerdy characters and nerdy subjects. The tech they talk about is usually hilariously bad, and sometimes the female characters come across like the…
And they promised me that it would make things friendlier to under-represented walking simulators! Our political system is so broken!
I see you've been to the 'Is John Constantine bisexual?' threads.
I am always surprised to see the hate he gets here. The AV Club loves nitpicking things! Is it so different when someone is nitpicking the science of a science fiction movie?
Fair enough! I think a lot of the story relies heavily on unlocking and reading the story bits when using the different functions, and I feel like it's deliberately vague in ways that work against it. I want to read all the interpretations of it, though. I love seeing what other people bring to it, what connections…
I don't think I've seen Quick in my heroes yet. :/ It sounds amazing, though. I am frustrated by the current range, but I was always frustrated with it in XCOM, too.
Linux builds of MASSIVE CHALICE are out! It's kind of wonky in its beta state, and I haven't quite felt the generational weight yet, because I'm still on my first generation of heroes, but It's definitely got that excellent XCOM feel to it. I'm nervous about when things become really difficult. That hasn't quite hit…
