Was your takeaway from this article honestly that *only* black people should be paid for companies ripping them off, or that *only* black people have created dances that have been ripped off by others? If your actions are too damaging to the people around you, you shape up or get pushed out. He's feeling that now, possibly for the first time in his life.…

I think for that to happen, cops would have to view harassing black people as a waste of their resources. Getting these calls lets them maintain their fear-based authority over people, gives them more excuses to round up or kill undesireables, and strengthens their relationship with their white power base.

I believe that in a lot of instances of sexual assault and rape, targets aren’t based on what a rapist finds attractive so much as what provides a power imbalance or opportunity.
