Please just ask Scorcese about the projects he’s promoting. It’s not his job to weigh in on every stupid thing going on in the movie industry.

They don’t make real movies anymore!
Surprised the article didn’t call out Gerald’s Game, which was a tremendous adaptation of a novel I had considered unfilmable since so much goes on in the trapped wife’s head.
They didn’t ban the video, they made them change/cut short the ending. If I recall correctly, the original made it clear that Jeremy shoots himself. MTV forced them to leave the ending vague.
I rented a Duran Duran video compilation when I was maaaaaybe 9 or 10. When “Girls on Film” came on, I stopped the tape and found my dad to ask if it was okay for women to be nude in a movie, to which he replied with the classic “As long as it serves the story, son.” On that day, I became a man.
Bunny was a birder. Look how much good that did her.
Speaking of L&O, choosing to live in the Arconia or Cabot Cove would be like sending your kid to Hudson University - the most dangerous campus in America. Like, if your parents are pushing you to apply then you probably need a bodyguard and food tester.
The MTV version of the video for REM’s “Pop Song 89" features Michael Stipe and 3 female models dancing topless with black bars obscuring their nipples. Originally the black bars were only used on the women but Stipe insisted if their nipples had to be censored than so did his.
About a decade ago, I saw Fleetwood Mac at Jazz Fest in New Orleans (yes, yes, Jazz Fest isn’t really a jazz fest), and it was essentially three straight hours of massive hit after massive hit. I didn’t even realize I knew that many of their songs. They played one new song and even that was decent.
It was an absolutely…
“The video was banned on MTV because religious groups mistakenly took it as being anti-Christian—it was actually about people who profiteer from religious zealotry....” Oh, I don’t know, from that description, this might be the rare instance where the protestors and the band were actually in complete agreement.
Jared Leto using a Dr Seuss character as a pen name is the most Jared Leto thing possible.
Pathetic TV tropes #347,563 & #347,564:
Specific, but also accurate.
TV is like how it used to be for bands back in the day. (Stay with me)
I don’t know. The Supreme Court has made a few doozies recently, so Marinozzi may just be getting ahead of whatever’s in the judicial pipe.
“That’s what the money is for!”
Madonna’s “American Life” is terrible? The album that has “Hollywood”, “Love Profusion”, “Nothing Fails”, “Intervention”, “X-Static Process”, “Die Another Day” and “Easy Ride”? I have a bad news: it’s not the album, it’s your taste that’s terrible,
Thanks for putting Aerosmith first so I don’t have to plow thru the other 39.
The deleted scenes from Muppet Christmas Carol were wild
There are only three things Caine hates in this world -- intimacy coordinators, people who are intolerant of other people’s cultures, and the Dutch.
