But we do, and it’s too cumbersome to change.

I must have missed the director’s cut of “You Can Count on Me”
Coogler is “famous” I guess in the sense that he has directed massive movies, but hardly someone you’d recognize on sight, especially outside of Hollywood/L.A. Like, aside from Spielberg or Tarantino, I bet there are very few directors whom the average bank customer could recognize.
From the creators of Lane Bike Slow.
She was ok, Vince Vaughn was like a pile of wet dirt. But agree that it is a minor masterpiece — production design, cinematography, costuming especially.
It’s like Dr. Who, but instead it’s dozens of Latino Luigis.
But there are many shows these days that show diverse characters in a positive light. Why is it an issue that this particular show does not?
How about we don’t overthink it, and race wasn’t a factor.. some random people of random backgrounds did some stuff to Pamela Anderson in this show
Yea, if you don’t follow the ins and outs of Taylor Swift, but only know she started in Nashville and co-wrote two albums with Aaron Dessner, one might assume she doesn’t write her own songs. I don’t think Albarn was intentionally lying or trying to throw shade, just incorrectly assuming.
Side note.. I think it’s kinda…
Also sad in this instance: During the CNN New Year’s Eve special last month, Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen were cutting away to random celebrities all night to see how they were celebrating, and they cut to Regina King’s house, and she brought her son onscreen (and his boyfriend I think? she called his companion her ‘…
I’m sure that was intentional by the writers and will come back to haunt them..
I didn’t even think of it as Jackie’s dream; they distinctly showed Shauna waking up right after.
Thank you for this post. Couple quick thoughts.. I thought Misty said “see you later, girls” as some sort of sarcastic remark to coworkers she knew didn’t like her? Maybe I’m wrong.
Also, the “Cult of Lottie” is giving me strong “Guilty Remnant” from “Leftovers” vibes.. survivors out for blood/revenge/something…
The creators of the show actually dropped a couple major “answers” in a Vulture interview from a couple days ago:
1) Jackie is definitely dead, not “maybe, sorta”; they envisioned Shauna continuing entries in her diary after returning home, so that’s why movies listed post-1996 were there; and they had no idea people…
Counterpoint: Yes
I think people are overstating Juliette Lewis’ anger at the scripts. She seemed annoyed but not “I’m quitting!” annoyed. I mean, she’s on the most talked-about show of the season, likely to see many acting awards thrown her way. And she just got back on twitter, so that’s fun too. Why would she leave..
Melanie Lynskey actually tweeted this weekend: “In tonight’s episode Warren Kole delivers my favorite line of the season.” I assume it had to be “Wait, there’s no book club?!”
Scream 3
Also as a side note, I found the production design of the series so refreshing, tactile, and real. Unlike so many streaming shows (And Just Like That, Morning Show, etc.) there were no shitty outdoor green screens, no obviously fake driving scenes, no indoor setpieces that looked like sets. The show was clearly filmed…
She’s definitely next-level rich from having married (and been widowed by) Big. Just selling the apartment they shared after he died would have her set for life.
I feel like the writers are definitely (and quite obviously, though not incorrectly) addressing common complaints of the original series: a) their version of…
