Putting it in longer form doesn’t actually make it somehow rational. The car was paid for pre-pandemic, any point you make from there doesn’t work.

Moving the goalposts doesn’t make your original point suddenly salient. And rich people existing isn’t the deep insight you think it is either.

It’ll be driven less than 15k and sit in a garage. It has an exceedingly low environmental impact. 

Chances are this vehicle will never see 10,000 miles and will have a relatively small footprint in that aspect. I agree that it is ridiculous that it exists, but the pollution side is less egregious than the amount of profit likely collected off this car.

Ferrari has a long wait list for these one of one cars. I don’t think the owner was considering the pandemic when they ordered the car a couple years ago. And sure, it costs the same as a bunch of PPE. Of course the issue with PPE right now is supply constrained, not specifically the ability to pay for it.

It’s a cheat without a license plate though.
