Then we as consumers need to call out these companies to stop pandering. You can’t just jump on the BLM bandwagon because its a way to look like your company has a conscience and then a few months later do nothing to make active change in the community.

I’ve been apart of the industry for over 20 years; it does not work like this...ever. your “data” might say otherwise but no it’s never that personal or cynical and when it is those types aren’t long for the haul.

Well, it’s also perfectly reasonable to call out businesses for being just that - businesses. They don’t give a FUCK about BLM, or Pride, or anything of that nature, they only care about their image by shallowly supporting these issues. And if they want to prove that that’s not the case then they can’t have it both…

any of these companies marketing teams would happy to show you that you’re not, or you would’ve been on the initial list

If you want to take the cynical (but not necessarily untrue) route, sure.

Got news for you buddy - Nintendo solely exists to grab your cash. That’s what a business does. The good ones just make you feel like they’re not grabbing your cash. 

Protip: Everything a company makes is a cash grab. The good news is that all of this is optional for you, the consumer.
