This is where finally the show fully found its voice. I remember hearing “Tell me that I’m good” and I just sat there in silence as the theme played over the credits really just kind of shocked at how naturally the show transitioned from kind of self aware, hip show business satire to something with real emotional…
If that’s true, then I’m not even mad, that’s amazing. The pseudonym was deftly deployed on only the shittiest work product.
I don’t know, as Great Job Internets go, this was kind of fun to read. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Truly, this is a sad day for literature. Also bananafish.
I’ve been making my way through his New Yorker short stories and they’re really, really good. That is all.
Entertainment Weekly: Watch This Video of a Picture of an Actor.
Paleo used to be called “the Caveman Diet” and was based in all those stupid 1950s-era myths about hunter-gatherers and how primitive humans clearly thrived on meat, meat and more meat. So of course anything made from cooking bones (presumably in some kind of old-timey pot over a campfire) had to be great!
My favorite use for this stuff is to get rid of fruit flies. Put a 1/2 inch or so in a small jar, roll up a small cone from paper that will fit in the top of the jar - keep it a couple inches up from the cider, set it out and watch those little buggers go in and be unable (too stupid?) to get out.
One thing the HP fandom didn’t change, as this comment thread can attest, is that fandoms will never quit immediately engaging in pissing contests about whose is better or did it first or is more special.
And slowly the commentators went grey.
Are we sure they’ve committed to the touch route? It’s been awhile, but I don’t recall any touching in the pilot.
On at least two separate occasions this season, Benioff and Weiss (in the commentary they play after the episode airs) openly admit to working backward from a conclusion. You’d think they’d know at this point that that’s not something you should be proud of, but here we are.
This clip was actually pretty good, first bit of promo material that has me excited for the movie. The trailers haven’t done much for me, same with the shitty posters. I absolutely hate Leto as a celeb personality but he can act.
“I was too caught up in the cultural zeitgeist to realize that we were the walking dead this whole time.”
Yeah it’s some crazy amount that people with a lot more understanding of the Targaryen family tree/time on their hands have figured out.
The Night King’s powers are pretty vague, but it seems strange that, if all he needed was a dragon, he couldn’t get his hands on one in 8,000 years. I wonder if he could have foreseen all those thousands of years ago the exact events that would lead to a dragon being in his presence that he could kill. And he almost…
I think everyone overthinks this. When prophecy stirs, it stirs for both sides. The Night King knew now was the time, doesn’t mean he knew the how and when aspects of every detail. He’d have ambushed all 3 dragons otherwise and just ended the war in that episode. It’s ok that he started moving before knowing how he’d…
I really don’t know why there’s any interest at all in Cleganebowl since he was zombified. The sadistic older brother who tormented Sandor since childhood is dead. There is only a husk of a body left. Hell, in the books, that body doesn’t even have Gregor’s head attached anymore.
I thought that the Night King was waiting for Viserion - doesn’t he have some kind of ability to see things like Bran does? He could have known Dany had the dragons, knew he needed one to get past the wall and possibly win the war, and acted accordingly. Which also explains why all the undead were just chilling while…
