i am a survivor of sexual assault and obviously i cannot speak for every other survivor out there but i know that male nudity does not bother me one bit. that being said, i think that if this event is as publicized as it seems to be, it sounds like it’s something that can be easily avoided, especially knowing it’s

Yeah, I get that. My mother was divorced when I was a baby, and my stepfather and I just never meshed, although I always appreciated the fact that he stepped in and raised me when my deadbeat dad noped out.

“I really enjoyed that new Woodsy Allen movie except for that little nervous fella!”

I remember watching Annie Hall years ago in a film study class and hating it. This was long before everyone knew he was a pedophile and a rapist of course. I remember trying to figure out what exactly was so amazing about this film, why we were wasting time on it. We talked about cinematic techniques and slice of life

Pleeeeeeeeeease tell me the soundtrack has lots of clarinet.

This was filmed down the street from my parents house. My dad wanted to try and be an extra in the diner scene but my mom wouldn't let him. My mom wanted to go yell at Woody but my dad wouldn't let her.

Watching this reminded me of this passage from Lena Dunham’s book: “My friend Jenni calls them Sunshine Stealers. Men who have been at it a little too long, who are tired of the ride but can’t get off. They’re looking for some new form of energy, of approval. It’s linked with sex, but it’s not the same. What they want

That or “Tiresome Nebbish.”

Well, everyone knows if your penis is broken, only a much younger girl you have an inappropriate power dynamic with you can cure you!

It has everything.

I don’t think it’s in Woody’s repertoire to write lines for women that don’t revolve around a (brilliant) man’s (sad) penis.

You know I never really got why people think he makes intelligent movies. It's moderately witty cinema with a large vocabulary, that's about it. He's well read and drops a lot of literary references. I think the best way to describe him and his films would be "Pervert Sophomore".

Oh wow, it’s a movie about an older male authority figure finding a young and impressionable girl to give him boners. I can’t imagine where Woody Allen’s inspiration comes from... I mean, it’s not like that’s his life story or anything.

Dude, like all the English profs at my university were married to each other. Neat little couples of all ages and sexes. There was at least four couples I can think of off the top of my head. All appropriately matched, though.

Has there ever been a movie or book about a humanities professor who was not a middle-aged alcoholic sleeping with his young female student? Because I swear I know a lot of nice humanities professors who are happily married to age appropriate people. And sober. Spoiler alert: some humanities professors are not mopey

Woody Allen movies are essentially Nicholas Sparks novels for pseudo-intellectuals (or for a better visual, Woody Allen movies are essentially Nicholas Sparks novels with hipster glasses on): they’re formulaic, predictable, enforce shitty sexist stereotypes, are a little squicky, take themselves far too seriously,

Did someone say Saad Maan?

Irrational Man could literally be the title of any Woody Allen movie.

Of course everyone reacts differently to trauma, but as a survivor, flouncing weiners flopping in a general direction are just funny. That’s why I think the *any survivor* rethoric in the letter rings false - some will, some will not, and not all sexual trauma involves penii either.

any mixed race jezzies wanna share some fun family photos? show some people what’s up. i’ve got some in the holster i once used to silence a douche in my intercultural communications class (a class he clearly and dearly needed). “if you’re half white then you should just identify as white.” direct quote.
