I have a STRONG aversion to f2p, in that I won’t even play games for franchises I like, like Star Trek... but I’ve been playing this through Gamepass since launch and I honestly didn’t even realize it was a f2p game. It has literally never come up in any way.

The producers, Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer, are “journalists” who have made a movie about how fracking is great, a separate, anti-environmentalist movie funded by a mining company, and one about how climate change isn’t real.

Why do you find this guy’s right to make money off of ruining people’s day more important than everyone else’s right to play a video game without being made to feel like shit?”

That movie was SO BAD. I had already stopped engaging with Potter stuff, really, but that movie single-handedly destroyed any affection I had for even the original books. God DAMN what a bad movie.

Um, I’ve been playing videogames for 30+ years, and I am AMAZED with how seamless cloud gaming has gotten (and I live in the suburbs of Georgia.) I don’t like the Stadia service, but the tech works flawlessly. XCloud is getting there. Yes, obviously there’s lag, but for most use cases, it is in no way massive.

Also, your username leads me to believe you’d be into Gates McFadden’s new podcast where she interviews other Trek friends. Have you listened to it? Frakes had some really funny stories.

In interviews he’s always struck me as a really self-aware, easy-going guy. I imagine he looks back at those paychecks- I mean shows- with a kind of goofy fondness.

[it] make more sense if you look at it from a “not a straight white guy” perspective.” Exactly! It actually took me a minute to realize this, myself. As a straight cis white guy, I never have any reason to use the n-word or a gay slur... but some people in those groups do all the time with each other! And they should

My favorite thing about this screensaver is right there next to the Daily Planet. In Nashville, we have the AT&T building. Because of its distinctive double spires, though, everyone just refers to it as the “Batman Building.” And there it is in that screensaver, right next to the Daily Planet and Avengers Tower. I’m

You’re right to be confused. No one would want to buy stolen source code, because it’s useless. Any game company with that much money to spend isn’t going to bother producing a game that’s just going to get sued into oblivion by using stolen, proprietary code. It’s insane to me that CD Projekt got hacked by what are

Hell, I have the newest Chromecast and even IT can’t run Stadia. It can run Geforce Now, though!

This is the correct answer, and exactly what I realized when I read the news. Marvel really needs Sony to play ball so they can keep including Spider-Man in the MCU movies. This is one of those small “value add” things Marvel can do for Sony.

Heck, if you’re planning on going in on the Google Stadia thing, these are some cheap gaming laptops!

Yes! I’ve been wishing for this since Rayman Origins. Nintendo could KILL at some hand-drawn Mario. It’s literally all I want from the next Mario game.

I absolutely cried watching this. What an awesome thing. How can you not love this?

Underrated comment.

I just got the game because of Giant Bomb’s new Sims 4 series, and was super disappointed by the hair options for POC. My daughter is half black and has really big, curly hair. I love it. But there’s nothing even remotely close to her hair type. There’s like 25 different versions of “long, straight hair” but they

Yep! The Invisibles was what I immediately went to. I saw the King Mob graffiti and that confirmed it. Street punks with magical powers living in the shadows and taking on the powers-that-be?

It was the same with Michael Douglas in Ant-Man, which I thought was even more obvious, but completely fooled people I was with. They thought they had found a look-alike actor, or just put Douglas in a lot of makeup.

My wife and mother both thought Tarken was an actual actor. They had no idea. Which seems crazy to me, but there it is. It made me realize that for a lot of us who are more savvy about special effects, we know what to look for, and so it’s super obvious. But for a ton of people (the majority, even?) character effects
