Why would it be reasonable for the printed side to face outward? The power and eject buttons are above the disc drive if the system is horizontal, left if the system is vertical. From what I’ve read/seen, not great, or “GOAT” as they’re officially named. You’re better off with the usual better alternatives (Durock, C3's, etc.).

Last I checked, there isn’t official VIA support yet. Glorious has said there will be support “later”. A quick Google search shows there are ways to get VIA working, but it isn’t fully supported of course.
