Yeah, I think it's more that relying on a home remedy instead of getting the underlying disease checked out and eradicated by a professional is what would do the damage, not the oil.
So it's not the black narrative that makes you most comfortable?
I think she's saying that because it oil only goes 1 mm deep, and gum disease needs a 4-5 mm depth, if you only do oil pulling, you will continue to experience bone loss (it comes with gum disease), and with bone loss, your teeth will become loose and eventually, you will lose them.
New rule: when people are talking to you about the problems they face, the correct response is NEVER, "there are children starving in Africa."
I think the idea is that it's not a strong enough treatment for people with actual gum disease. Like its fine if you have a little bit of irritation to your gums, but if you have bad gingivitis or periodontal disease, you still need to see a dentist.
I took that to mean that if someone with gum disease opted for oil pulling instead of actually addressing the disease by other means, it would not end well.
Because they aren't doing anything effective to combat their gum disease.
My guess is that oil will get trapped in the pockets between the teeth and the gums that people with gum disease have and could act as a lubricant to loosen them.
Yeah, I couldn't figure that one out, either.
Because casual racism is tame, at least! We shouldn't worry about it then, of course. These people don't deserve to share their unique experience.
How can so much awesomeness exist in a group of young people? They are the coolest of cool kids.
Seriously. I saw $25 bucks and laughed the hearty laugh of a woman who has to spend $200 each time her bra-size changes just to have 4-5 options
Ask me how much my bras cost.
This is why I wish gifs worked on Facebook - I really wish we could post these as comments to his white whine.
Thurston Moore: The elder statesman of the "guitar guy at the party" crowd. Still substituting condescension and words he learned in high school philosophy class for actual argument. If only we could understand the complexity and depth of his love.
I want it to say "had a bit of online fun" on my gravestone
Calling someone out on their intolerance is not intolerant. That's calling an ace an ace and a spade a spade. Don't use that canard that is being used by haters who get called on hating.
I don't think criticizing someone for perpetuating systemic sexism is the same thing as being mean
he's off on the numbers but he's right on the premise.
