To be clear I’m also an American, although I did spend 2 weeks the UK for work once :)

As a society? Yes, in a lot of ways. As a website? Meh. The lack of articles objectifying women is definitely a positive. Jalopnik also had a much larger quantity of interesting articles about cars back then. I don’t blame Elizabeth for this, it’s more likely a lack of investment from their corporate overlords.
Is this a parody of the Jalopnik I remember from the past?
Don’t most bars have food though? When I was younger and visited bars on a regular basis my group and I would always order some sort of food to go with the drinks. As far as “custom brews”, pretty much any place you go into has at least a handful of decent craft beers to choose from nowadays. Bars are much better in…
As someone who just started replaying un-modded Oblivion on Xbox I agree. Those faces are uglier than I remember.
The article quotes her as saying she already had a successful career at that point. It is not a huge jump to assume she didn’t feel she needed the exposure. If the pay was too low she should have said no.
I’m not an actor. I have turned down jobs that would have been good for my career advancement.
Albumin is the bane of my existence when I cook salmon.
The fact that anyone’s childhood can be destroyed by a reboot of anything is laughable. Honestly, grow the fuck up people. I think most of the Star Wars movies made after the original trilogy are trash. This doesn’t ruin my childhood, or the enjoyment of those first three movies.
The way she was abused and threatened by so many is absolutely awful and inexcusable. As far as the pay, could she not have just said no if it wasn’t enough? I’m nobody and I’ve turned down job offers because I found them to be unsatisfactory.
This looks like something from the deli section at the grocery store that you are supposed to bring home and bake in the oven.
“If you watch carefully, you can see that the machine also includes white striations that look like the fat from actual salmon.”
I’m 40, and I do not remember rental being pushed hard when I was a kid. I don’t recall any of my friends renting instruments. Regarding that, I own two trumpets, and of course my kid wanted to play cello :) In all seriousness I’m doing my best not to push my own interests on my kids, but I will say that it does…
My oldest just started band and orchestra in school, which is is very excited about. Our schools push their instrument rental partnership with a local music store HARD, and make is seem like there is no other option. As someone who has played music their whole life, I know the best value is a good quality used…
I understand why she would want to keep doing this, but as a viewer it seems a bit odd that they would swap out Pat and keep Vanna. To me it seems like a good time to rebrand/revamp the show for the next generation.
I mean not really, this is publicly available information that every other video game site reported on, and I saw it in those places before I saw it published here. I doubt anyone from Kotaku dug through those documents to find this detail. Aside from opinion pieces this site rarely does anything but republish stories…
I didn’t realize we were talking about criminal proceedings. BTW, we weren’t.
I just started replaying Oblivion on Xbox for the first time in 15 years. The characters are just as ugly as I remember, the world looks better than I thought it would in ‘23. I guess I should have waited a bit longer for this remaster.
If that happens I just hope they continue making controllers. It’s 75% of the reason I’ve stuck with Xbox vs PS since the 360 generation.
I’m actually replaying Oblivion right now, I hadn’t touched it since ‘08 or so. I’m playing on an XBone, so no mods. I thought it might feel too janky and be too ugly to enjoy in ‘23, but I was wrong. It took a minute to get reacquainted with the less than ideal combat, but once I did I started enjoying the game…
