I was exposed to all sorts of antique things growing up. My family has an old house out in the country that we have owned since the 1870s, and no one ever threw anything away. The house and the barn are full of all sorts of things. My grandma who I’m lucky to still have grew up in the house with her grandparents, so

It’s not like the Outback was lacking things that are ready and willing to kill people to begin with.

My family moved to a rural area when I was in 5th grade and the school I went to still used mimeograph machines for a lot of assignments. I had no idea why the ink on the papers was purple.

Do you make all of your decisions in life based on whether it is the healthiest choice? I eat mostly lean proteins, but I still enjoy a cheeseburger, steak, or pizza from time to time. I also like eating vegetarian foods that don’t have the best health profile. In addition to that I enjoy drinking beer and wine. I

I see Republicans being the biggest supporters since the meat industry is big in several red states.

I think if it were to approach that point we would likely see pressure for subsidies for ranchers and the meat industry.

In all honestly meat would have to get many multiples more expensive before I’m priced out of it, and I think that’s true for a lot of people. I realize I’m in a more fortunate position than some people, but I’m not rich by any measure.

I think things like sausage are a lot easier to replicate than just plain meat since they are usually seasoned heavily.

Without being forced into the situation in real life it’s really hard to say. I think it would probably be a hybrid approach for me. I don’t hate the ground meat substitutes, I just don’t like them as much as the real thing. I’d probably use something like impossible meat for things like chili or burgers, and I’d

Have these people never heard of those little discs of cleaner actually designed for this purpose? I have no idea how well they worked, but this doesn’t seem like much of a “hack” in any sense of the word, unless it is being used as “this tik tok person is a hack”.

I’m more interested in trying a vat filet mignon. Theoretically there is no reason it would cost more than a vat chuck steak, although I’m sure the companies producing these things will decide it should cost more.

This is live action though right? I doubt I will ever see it. As a 40 year old man I am not the target audience. I do have a 6 year old daughter, but she is very weird about movies. She’s still afraid of most of them. She watched the cartoon version not too long ago and did not like it one bit.

I’ve tried to like these but they just don’t do it for me. I am holding out a lot of hope for cultured (lab-grown) meat. I’m hoping it becomes a viable thing in my lifetime.

That’s true, although your 60-something mother may have heard stories about washing clothes the old-fashioned way directly from her grandmother. I can remember seeing a washboard in my now 95 year old grandma’s basement when I was a kid. Regarding records, although many of us millennials didn’t adopt vinyl until we

I was never quite that crafty, I could have saved them a few dollars if I had been. Regarding collect calls, I can remember turning down a call from my delinquent uncle because I didn’t know who “Jailbird” was when I answered the phone.

To me it seems more like he’s been rehearsing for a geriatric version of Jackass.

Thanks Obama.

Before reading this I assumed this restaurant had been around since before “woke” became “woke”, and I was ready to side with the owner. I can sympathize with her being a recent immigrant, but you’d think she’d at least run the name of her business through Google before opening. I would have no problem eating at Woke,

The payphone was usually free for me because I usually called my parents collect to check in.

Did it? I’m 3 months from 40 and “hooking up” has always meant “doing it” to me.
