Well that ending would be the next book anyway. Winds of Winter isn’t even supposed to be the final book, there is allegedly one coming after it. Given the fact that GRRM is now in his 70s, and the speed at which he writes, we should expect it some time around his 98th birthday.

That’s exactly it, getting them crisp without being burnt is the goal. I achieve it maybe 2/3 times.

I might have to try your method because breaking down cauliflower is a PITA.

Yes, I break it into pieces that are ~2x the size of a popped piece of popcorn, they then cook down to about the size of a piece of popcorn.

That is maybe doable if the coldest it gets for you is 30 degrees in the winter, I don’t live somewhere where that is the case. It also doesn’t work if you’re sitting in a unmoving car on a 90 degree summer day, windows open or not.

I made the same assumption right off the bat, then when I actually looked at the data it wasn’t clear to me that you can make that as a blanket assertion https://igentax.com/gas-tax-state/#table

Why are these people automatically shitheads? You never find yourself in a situation where you might need to sit in your parked car for a bit? I know when I do I leave my car running unless it is one of the approximately 30 days per year where it won’t get uncomfortably hot or cold very quickly.

My go-to is simple roasted cauliflower. I just toss it with a healthy amount of olive oil, salt and pepper, sometimes a bit of garlic, and a touch of whichever kind of vinegar I’m in the mood for. I then put it in a 450 degree oven until it’s browned to the point were it is not quite burned. It’s definitely important

Yes those are a huge help. What I usually do now is screen shot the ingredient list and recipe steps so I can just refer to those, makes life much easier.

Depending on the source, I find the biggest negative with online recipes to be scrolling through 23 paragraphs of why this dish is the ultimate version of it, and excruciating detail about the first time the author made it. Bonus points if the author’s picky middle child cleaned her plate that night.

I’m so happy to see this post, because it’s something I’ve argued with friends/girlfriends/my spouse about for decades. I am firmly a no popcorn until the movie starts person. Back when I used to actually go to the theater I would wait until the previews started to go get the popcorn in order to try and achieve ideal

That is the overwhelming sentiment, but people aren’t rational and Republicans will still blame Biden/Democrats for the high prices.

I think this rule is silly and antiquated. It isn’t my fault that the restaurant didn’t time the orders correctly, why should I have to sit there and let my food get cold? Also, I hate it when hot dishes cool off. My preferred temperature of hot food is about 2 degrees short of burning the roof of my mouth.

I’m happy to learn that I started doing this correctly without really trying. My wife and I much prefer blueberry pancakes to plain, and that’s what we always made when it was just the two of us, and back then I mixed the berries into the batter. Once our kids came along they of course decided they didn’t like

December of 2020 was an interesting time. Inventories were still a bit tight due to most automotive production being shut down in March/April of that year, but the microchip situation hadn’t really had an impact yet. I distinctly recall hearing the first rumblings of it in my job function right before Christmas break

How about not using a loofah? In our house we use white washcloths. They are small and cheap so you can use a fresh one each day, and they have the added bonus of getting hit with bleach in the washing machine.

It would most likely work out in your favor if you can manage to buy it instead of extending the lease. It’s sort of like having the opportunity to buy out rental property below market value.

I’ve been intrigued by American Auto, but I have yet to give it a chance. I work on the business side for a major American automaker, and I’m afraid I’d be too focused on what they get right/wrong within the industry to fully turn on my suspension of disbelief and enjoy the show.

I wish Benioff would write another book. I stopped watching GoT before it caught up to the books, as I’m the rare person holding out hope that GRRM might actually finish them. I read the two books Benioff wrote and really enjoyed them. I’m sure it’s unlikely, but would love to see another from him.

I happened to be one of the lucky folks who leased a vehicle in 2019, and I did just buy out the lease last month. I’m unfortunately not selling it for a profit, as we need the vehicle and it would be pointless to replace it when there aren’t great options on the buying side, both for price and inventory reasons. I am
