Your comment makes it sound like one needs to be either a raging drunk or completely abstain. I enjoy drinking beer on the weekend, but I typically hold myself to two beers per night on Friday and Saturday. That isn’t even enough to give me a decent buzz let alone have an impact on what I feel like the next morning.

That would put it on the level of the common cold, something we can resign ourselves to living with.”

My wife and I are in our late 30's, and we are still paying the students loans she took out to go to a private art school. I luckily make a good living, so it doesn’t cripple us financially, but it’s still obnoxious.

You don’t clean your sink?

I get that, and I could say similar living in Metro Detroit. If I look at the comment section of either of our two major newspapers they are 95% Redhats.

Fun idea, but given the politics of most folks in the Tampa Bay area I don’t see this going well.

I usually send them down the disposal as well. Be careful saying that around here though, the popular opinion is that garbage disposals should never be used under any circumstances.

I was also aware of that but decided not to mention it since we were talking about the eggs. I’ve also noticed that warning on bags of flour when I buy them.

I agree with you that it isn’t likely a major problem. While salmonella ,can certainly exist in eggs, I don’t believe it’s super prevalent. I don’t want to jinx myself right before making Christmas cookies, but I’ve never gotten sick from eating cookie dough.

This is something people do? I only ever do it if I know I’m using all of the remaining eggs in the carton. I typically just toss egg shells into the sink as I go, don’t see the need to dirty a bowl.

This is very good to know, and I’ll be setting it up right away. I’ve often talked about how most of us now have a ridiculous amount of photos, but that they may also be lost to our descendants since most of us don’t print them out on a regular basis anymore. Hell, I am already searching for some digital photos I took

My children are 8 and 5. When they were younger they obviously just celebrated Christmas without a second thought. My 8 year old has always been very curious, and started asking about religions a few years ago. This of course led to him wondering why we celebrate Christmas even though we don’t believe in any Christian

I’m a big Rolling Stones fan, and I follow the chatter on a fan club website that is still very active, and still very 90's. You can visit it here: https://iorr.org/

My wife and I are both atheists who enjoy going all out with many of the non-religious aspects of Christmas. I’m really happy to see this article.

I’d also be worried about possible pest infestation. For good or bad, commercial trees are probably sprayed with pesticides, and are also shaken out with machines prior to sale.

While I don’t doubt that these services aren’t great to their contractors, the employees theoretically need the work right? As far as getting my own stuff, chances are I’m ordering food delivery because I’m tired and want to give myself a break from cooking my family’s dinner. I do go pickup carry out from time to

I’ve tried to switch to LEDs, but I have yet to be satisfied with the quality of light they put out, the multi colored especially. To me they are bright and harsh, and don’t offer the warm comforting glow you get from incandescent bulbs.

If you’re buying tools it’s important to consider how often you are likely to use the needed tools in the future. If it’s something you think will get a lot of use in the future it’s worth spending the extra money to get a quality product. You will probably experience less frustration working with it, and will have a

A weekend and a day to recover before work seems to be a common approach. I take the opposite approach; I’d rather feel crappy on a workday than a precious weekend day. I of course sit behind a computer and don’t have a physical job, so that may not apply to you.
