Common sense would be staying home until it’s safe to go out.

They’ve only held up half the bargain though—flatten the curve so that things can safely be reopened. People stayed home, but nothing was done to safely reopen, so, blame the morons who refused to take this seriously for the continuation of all this.

Why are you still here? Go on, we won’t miss you!

So, basically, you’re advocating the Early New York State Pandemic Response Method?

So... the news reports of people dying around the globe of COVID are a liberal conspiracy, but the (checks notes) Internet postings about “millions” starving to death are believable?

Car dealerships already struck me as filthy germy places, I’m not opposed to buying a new car right now, but wouldn’t go into a dealership for it.

I’d be impressed if any tv show can trigger my smart speaker, since I frequently can’t. There’s nothing more demoralizing than being ignored by a Google home. Well, I suppose, being ignored by a Google home that’s just straight watching TV instead of listening to me.

I have a 30-something year old bike and I fucked with the cantilevers, and then just bought the v-brakes and am very happy. And maybe I’m missing something, but if the brake cable isn’t the right length... can’t you just adjust it?

That is interesting. I do have a friend who has written several major books - like major press and reviewed positively by the nyt- and he’s a little grumbly about how easy it is for people to get his ebook at the library, and the writing has not been more lucrative for him. So I’ve got sympathy for him, but I’m also a

The idea that there a limited number of licenses isn’t so weird - there are only so many actual copies. And while it helps publishers it also helps the writers so I’m okay with it. With the auto hold feature I can get on the wait list for like 2 dozen books at once, so something is always coming.

Ever since HD came along, the picture quality has been good enough for really anything you NEED. I had the same HD for about 10 years, it looked great. I finally got a new TV because I wanted one that easily connected to the streaming. It looks better. I still watch the old one. It still looks good. There is a limit

Interesting. The Impossible burger looks exactly like a real burger and does not taste bad, but it also does not taste like a real burger. I think I’d still rather have a good veggie burger that isn’t trying to be meat.

If you like animals you should support ethical farm practices. Cows do not exist if we don’t eat them but that doesn’t mean they should be treated cruelly. And soy farming can be every bit as horrific for the environment.

Midwest Express. Every seat was first class, they baked cookies on the plane and they’d fly you anywhere as long as the airports names ended in “ilwaukee”.

But, voter fraud isn’t a problem? It’s virtually non-existent.

Why would you want to require ID for voting? You want to encourage people to vote, not make it harder, right?

Why is riding the bus any more dangerous than driving in your car - you could be car jacked and frankly one of the creepiest places is a parking garage or sprawling parking lot. Buses have cameras and people.

Your theory goes counter to all evidence, but sure... you can still believe it.

Uh why WOULDNT you want to own publishing rights to JayZ and Jermaine Dupree’s classic “Poppin Tags”?

Yeah, but why?
