I can’t decide which one is more disturbing. Obviously, it’s fucked up that people with that much power and money would intentionally try to distort something like this, but it’s also pretty creepy that people with that much power and money would not get it.

I mean, yeah, that’s the arguments for unions, and if anyone thinks about it with any depth, it’s pretty obvious that employees have no power over employers.

Yeah, if I either gave up any hope on privacy (which maybe should be done) or had some reasonable assurance of safety (which I can’t think how it could seriously be made), I wouldn’t mind a Google home... I just wouldn’t ever call it indispensable.

Aside from the privacy issues, which are actually huge and a really big reason to not love it... the voice-control features ARE cool, and interesting and I can see how they’d be desirable, but they’re hardly must-haves.
