well, considering that the HP books are the kind of trashy liberal fantasy where maintaining the status quo is the absolute goal (up to making the main protagonist a literal cop), this is just brand consistency.

I never got the sense that this game was intended to be anything more than “virtual theme park for HP fans.” Yeah, quests and mechanics and stuff, but most of the praise I’ve seen is basically “It’s fun being able to fuck around in a 3D Hogwarts.” The Nemesis system would’ve added a layer of strategy onto the game,

Hell, Star Wars Galaxies had serial numbers and the creator’s name (which basically functioned as a “brand name” for players that made high quality items) on weapons and other items almost 20 years ago... it’s functionally the same kind of “strict uniqueness” as NFTs except paying for them in space bucks and hosting

This is what’s so wild to me...it’s all fake money. And not just fake money, but much faker money than even the stock market represents - which itself fake money. Like all those “$100M in NFT’s stolen!” headlines are hilarious. That money never existed, that was just the speculative value of the NFT after a few folks

Oh yeah, I saw that guy in a previous thread who was trying to use the metaphor of how NFTs are a new kind of shovel to solve a new problem that old shovels can’t fix... and then ghosted when people asked him to explain what the new problem was that needed fixing.

Crypto isn’t making anyone rich except for the people at the top of the scheme. That’s how pyramid schemes *work*. Also these articles don’t get any more or less comment traffic than others. If you disagree, then I suggest you provide your proof because all this trash comment is, is hurt feefees and baseless statement.

Can’t wait for the handful of crypto dorks to roll in here talking about how Kotaku never says anything nice about NFTs and no one understand their potential except for them and it’s all so unfair because how are they ever going to become fake crypto Pokémon pyramid scheme landlords if people know that it’s just a

Hey Nintendo,

Commenting to list a few more indie titles that I personally already own and think they are pretty good inclusions (some also previously featured in Kotaku): CrossCode, Gonner, Figment, Baba is You, Moon Hunters, Minit, Hidden Folks, Lenna’s Inception, Mewn Base, Bleed 1 and 2, a couple of Rusty Lake puzzle

I’ve seen tons of arguments against NFTs, but what’s the point in gaming? Nobody has ever said what they accomplish, not even the game companies that are sending out press releases. That’s because they accomplish nothing, unless you’re the one selling them trying to make a buck off of rubes. NFT people act like account

Yeah, it’s basically like buying a Tesla.

It takes the barest minimum of human decency to allow a queer person to live their life unharassed. It costs nothing to simply leave them alone. To not say something cruel or nasty and instead mind your own business.

Somehow, that’s still too much to ask for so many, not just in the gaming community, but on the planet

Or like. We can talk about Covid again, instead of Logan Paul. I don’t mind, really.

Why report on Logan Paul and instead report on the new Luigi’s Mansion LEGO set?

Devs are clowns, also “WHORE FOODS: VITAMIN D” plaque in the HQ. If you’re going to make a milsim, make a milsim. I just returned the game after reading the Tweet. Not because I’m against a school level, but because of the exciting he seemed to posses for his community that is so hungry for the level.

Everything about

Ah, a straggler from the Jack Thompson crusade. Well, I’ll be delighted to fill you in: Violent video games don’t cause violence, bad environments do. When it comes to the recent ‘trend’ of anti-protesters running people over in their cars, it’s probably because they’re not being held accountable for their actions,

A ‘realistic’ school shooting level would be from the point of view of a school resource officer cowering in the parking lot even though situation was theoretically the reason his job even exists. It would be a stealth mission where you hide from reporters so you can claim you didn’t abandon your post later.

So, this is basically a conservative’s wet dream? “If only there was a good guy with a gun in that classroom... and now it can be YOU!”

Here are some of your other NFT comments debunked:
