I just bought $2 LED light bulbs from Batteries +. I jumped on the deal and got a few but then I did a little bit of measuring with a power meter ... Don't believe *everything* about the LED bulbs. ... Yes, they are instant on, yes they are dimmable, yes they work at lower temperatures ... BUT, the big huge deal

Cree also just came out with a new, even cheaper 60W equiv. bulb heading to home depot now. The old ones had an MSRP of $10 (some states subsidize down to $5) but their new ones have an MSRP of $8 (possibly subsidized to $3 or $4?). http://mashable.com/2014/10/28/cre…

I bought my first LED bulb last week. It was a 100w equivalent.

I have an Oster "Cycle Pulse" blender. I can't tell you the exact model number, because it's not printed on there, and I can only find similar vintage models listed online, not the exact one. The one in the picture is not mine, and is actually quite a bit newer than mine, but it's as close as I can find a picture

Everywhere.

I thought Marathon was the ultimate FPS at the time, I thought it was way more hardcore than Doom.

It still is.

The proper name of our satellite, in English, is The Moon. I don't really see the problem acknowledging this. Luna is the Latin, from Roman times, tied to a moon goddess. None of us are Roman. Old English was mone.. German is Mond..

They all look very pretty, but when it comes to actually conveying the information you need while driving, with a minimum of distraction and a maximum of efficiency, a "boring" analog gauge is still the best method.

The fucking movie is ruined. Thanks, jerk.

Jason, you missed the biggest error of all:

I'm assuming that they are using size as a filter here? Star Wars is missing shuttles, fighters, and the Millennium Falcon.

We must go deeper!

Always amazed how stitched-together the lunar module looks (and probably was due to weight limits): a few aluminum panels held together by brackets and tape, and wrapped with tin foil. That thing must have creaked and squeaked like an old chevy...

Our Moon has hundreds of names, Soma, Σελήνη, Mwezi, قمر, լուսին, चांद, 月球, Mặt trăng, etc., take your pick.

I would have added to the Enceladus entry that it is also the most reflective body in the solar system, with an albedo of .99 (out of a possible 1.00). To compare, our bright, shining moon has an albedo of .12 and Venus is .75.
