I have to ask, how do black people cook potato salad that is so different then how white people cook it? I’ve looked at several recipes and I’m not seeing a dramatic difference.
So, objections:
1. White people who live in New York have to say bodega. Because otherwise they’re calling it a “corner store” or “convenience store” and that just doesn’t properly encapsulate a bodega.
7. Do not ban this word. Then we’re going to get (more) white people saying stuff like “SoHa” (an abomination that…
I thought bodega meant a place to store wine, like a cellar. Anyway, I think that’s pretty much standard part of the NYC lingo so I thought it was odd to see it on the list.
There’s a bit of irony in people thinking “ghetto” belongs to the black community.
It’s a freaking latin term and used to describe tiny convenience stores in a lot of major cities. Not feeling the burn on that one.
Ooh look at you bragging about not being stuck in the 80's.
Might have to disagree with the use of cousin.
Remember last year, how we did a Fine Art post…
Nosgoth was actually a really cool idea. The asymmetric gameplay was really interesting and the vampires were a lot of fun to play! That said, I agree with your point, it should not be what is used to determine the future of the series.
Huh. I... actually had the opposite problem, I had no idea where you’d take the franchise after Defiance. I mean (vague spoilers, in case you want to play this 15 year old game), the whole thing closes the time loop and resolves the entire situation.
Amy Henning’s finest works was the dialogue in the Soul Reaver series. Seriously this exchange is gold.
...as something other than Nosgoth, anyway.
I still twitch a little when I think some dipshit in a suit looked at the failure of that game and thought to themselves, “Welp, nobody wants more Legacy of Kain. Time to bin that series.”
I never get tired of this series. I’m still hoping that we’ll see it come back at some point.
Interesting, I recall the combat being solid. It had environmental impalement if I recall and no one was doing that sort of stuff yet I don’t think. Plus everyone was doing block puzzles back then, at least Raziel moved them quickly. I can’t imagine the game holds up that well design-wise nowadays but for its time I…
Kinda wish Amy Hennig would go back to Square Enix and finish this franchise once and for all. Raziel’s story has been resolved, but Kain’s ending wasn’t quite there yet...
“block puzzles”
I was seventeen when this game came out, and right in that self-involved headspace that made me think, “Raziel’s right, man; the world just doesn’t understand him! And FUCK Kain, man! Can’t stand letting his ‘son’ surpass him!”
...it didn’t take long after that for me to think, “Y’know, ol’ Raz has his head up his ass…
Although it was released almost 20 years ago, the opening cinematic of The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is still some…
