I live in one of the few states with a worse cyclist record than Texas so I know what that’s like unfortunately. I never said it was a great state, but condemning everything about the state just because of a few issues seems a bit much to me. Yes, I absolutely (greatly) disagree with some of the things they do, but I

I don’t live in TX so not sure why you’re addressing this at me.

My only complaint about MTB is that I have to drive to ride, but other than that I love it.

Yeah, you’re right.

Yeah, I sold my motorcycle before the bicycle. I figured with a bike being a lot slower it was ok, but that didn’t work obviously.

Haiti? I mean I only did a couple minutes of googling but looks like they had much bigger problems with their energy grid than Texas. Not to mention, one issue does not define the entire state as a failed state. I’m not saying Texas doesn’t have issues, but you are painting in some seriously broad strokes.

Do you live in or near Texas? That is quite a dramatic accusation based on one persons idiotic mistake.

I used to love to ride. Got hit by a car where the lady tried to claim she had the right of way (she was turning to her left directly in front of me and I had no stop sign or light or anything) and I sold my bike. I love it, but not worth getting mangled or leaving my kids with no father.

Honest question as I don’t know, but do highway projects? My understanding was all construction projects go over budget/time but maybe I’m wrong.

Yeah, I can’t argue with you there. The phone nav works SOOO much better. But I do find it handy to have the vehicle nav for backup. 98% of the time I’m using CarPlay.

I’ve looked up directions to a place before, you are on your way and then find you need to look for something like a restaurant/gas/etc and look and you have no cell service. So I should just download maps for the entire country and use all the space on my phone so I can’t use anything else? Seems like you’re trying

My truck updates automatically.

So you download maps ahead of time then. Which takes planning and knowing where you are going that will have no service and downloading several offline maps if it’s a larger area.

I should have clarified that I want buttons but ALSO voice control for it.

If you know where you’re going and that you will be out of cell service, and the area is only so large. That’s quite a lot of planning ahead. Whereas, my navigation in my truck works perfect.

Obviously GPS will work anywhere, but your maps/routes will only download when in service.

I should have clarified better. I still want physical buttons, but ALSO to be able to voice control.

I mostly agree with you, but two counterpoints. Navigation is WONDERFUL when you are out of cell service, especially in remote parts of the desert. The only piece that I think is missing that I wish CarPlay could do is the handling of HVAC and other basic vehicle controls. If it could do that I would be golden.

They accidentally installed a Toyota Camry brake pedal.

It’s both impressive and scary at how hard it hit and how little damage was done to it.
