I can see both sides. Yes we need transparency but we also should protect the privacy of those which the legal system doesn’t feel like they have the evidence to formally charge. You can infer whatever motives you want but the schools have to consider both of these acts and determine the legal risks if they conflict.

But I have a problem with reporting this on a few levels unrelated to the individual’s scholarship status or playing time. Doesn’t FERPA apply here with respect to the query made of the University?
