Pro tip:

Detroit still has a lot of metered street parking, some even free! You just have to drive around for it. And decide whether your windows will be smashed in lol (keep your car clean).

Why wasn’t Deadspin (and specifically, you Diana) able to find Ms. Ennis’ incident from 2011? Don’t you do simple searches of the people you write about before publishing?

“Cheap out on the soap, but go to a gym that charges you $2k a year and probably has this guy as a trainer”

Hey, friendly reminder.

Keep in mind that the line is painted under a few inches of ice. This can cause, when viewing from an angle as we are in this shot, the parallax effect that “positions” the puck in such a way that it even creates the illusion of white space between the puck and the line, when in actuality what we’re seeing is the

I can see both sides. Yes we need transparency but we also should protect the privacy of those which the legal system doesn’t feel like they have the evidence to formally charge. You can infer whatever motives you want but the schools have to consider both of these acts and determine the legal risks if they conflict.

“that Izzo and Dantonio covered up reports and hindered investigation.”...The report said that the school didn’t properly report the assaults and accusations to police or to the government and handled investigations internally.

Yes, I was merely pointing out that this happened well before classes started (you’re technically not a student until the semester starts), before the basketball season began, and that Izzo has kept him shut down, despite his tendency to let the younger players, especially well-touted younger players, get time in

If I recall correctly, 1 in 4 women will be sexually assaulted on a college campus during their time there, although the vast majority are never reported.

I think Baylor’s staff were intentionally deceptive and therefore more evil. I think Michigan State’s administration was tragically inept (and still is).

The problem with ESPN’s reporting is that it never mentioned any evidence of it’s claim - that Izzo and Dantonio covered up reports and hindered investigations. All of the incidents that they brought up were well known and covered by local press. Four of the “claims” against Dantonio were the result of one incident

Wow, so this kid wasn’t even a student at the school when this happened but here’s ESPN and Deadspin trying to connect it to the larger issue? Our media SUCKS in this country. They withhold key pieces of information for the clicks.

Which “well-sourced” reports again?

It should be noted that Washington, a Freshman, hasn’t seen a second of play time this year, and that he wasn’t yet a student in August.

FOIA trumps FERPA, I believe. That might not be in play here yet, because it’s still an ongoing investigation. It has been reported ad nauseam how MSU tried to avoid releasing the records on the previous incidents of alleged sexual assault that led to the initial OTL report. It was never mentioned that MSU did so

Not an alum but agree with your sentiment. Seems clickbaity on both deadspin and espn, and it worked because I clicked. But I have a problem with reporting this on a few levels unrelated to the individual’s scholarship status or playing time. Doesn’t FERPA apply here with respect to the query made of the University?

Disclaimer: I am an alum and a huge Michigan State fan. I am as disgusted as anyone by what has come out recently, and (admittedly, due to my own bias) I have been more skeptical than most regarding the football/basketball stuff that came out recently on outside the lines. That being said, I do have some serious

There’s a significant (unless you have a narrative to keep, then disregard) independent report by Jones Day that investigated how MSU and specifically Mark Dantonio handled the sexual assault allegations last year. Turns out, Mark is the person the contacted the authorities before anyone (including the victim
