the issue would be addressed internally”

let me translate that for you:

“we will be doing our damnedest to completely cover this up and admit no wrongdoing. please forget about it quickly so that the next time it happens we can do the same thing again.”

Yes, some modern torque-vectored AWD systems will selectively route power to different wheels in order to maximize your grip when turning and even to help you rotate, but very few will fully decouple the front end to leave those tires free for steering. AWD is, primarily, about putting power to the ground through more

I would have liked Acura to continue the lineage of the MDX Hybrid, which had better driving dynamics than the regular MDX and also got 26 MPG in the city.

I thought it was going to be an expensive book about Tom Cruise. A Cruise Missal, if you will.

Man what a night mare!

As a cyclist, I have transitioned about 90% of my rides indoor via trainer and training app. After my kid was born, and several near misses including getting hit by a car while running, it was time to mitigate unnecessary risk.

Haha. This is Texas: cyclists are always presumed to be in the wrong because they should have been in a truck with firearms, like all normal people.

You mean like how they agreed to replace the car, *twice*, after the buyer drove off with the car? After a week of driving it? And then, agreed to a refund (albeit, a slow one), after the *second* car swap?

Yeah, that sounds like some shitty service to me. No compilatory Bentley while he waits? What’s the world coming

So just like taking Yelp reviews with a grain of salt - keeping in mind that it is often dissatisfied customers that have the passion to post a rating - it is important to consider positive experiences as well.

Seriously, dude doesn’t inspect the first car and blames them when he finds damage, and Carvana goes above and beyond and agrees to fix/replace (for all they knew he could have damaged it himself after he bought it).

I don’t see how this reflects poorly on Carvana at all - he would’ve been absolutely screwed if this happened from a private seller or any used car dealer. The fact they let him trade it back in (twice), paid for a rental, and made the process easy only reflects well on Carvana. It’s this guy’s fault for not actually

Well, when Silverrock said, “We’ll fix it,” and then he said, “Nah,” I lost any respect I had left. You’re complaining just to complain, my dude, and continually making things worse at you go.

Taking the car back and giving him credit for another actually seems like a pretty decent solution. Not the best, but not bad.

It’s a used car. Expect that you will dump some money into it immediately and subtract it from your offer. I just bought a car, inspected it, test drove it, had the guy knock down the price for a few things... and then replaced the clutch the next weekend because it won’t accelerate up a hill without slipping. Should

Yeah, the headline here should really be “If you’re going to buy a used car without inspecting, Carvana will treat you better than any other seller will.”

Some possible headlines for next time:
“Man buys car without looking at it, but get’s lucky that the seller is willing to replace it.”
“TPMS works properly, man annoyed”

This.

And for accuracy:

If he did this with a private seller or about 95% of used car dealers wouldn’t he have been SOL?

The Volvo wagon. Invisible sleeper. More reliable than the BMW. Love the Acura as well, but the Volvo is always underestimated.
