As a person that has only used iOS, I must say that even I found this review a bit unfair in some respects.
If there's one thing I learned, it's that if it ain't broke, don't fix it! But if you ever feel the need to switch to FreeNAS, check out NAS4Free, the continuation of FreeNAS 7. It can run on a LOT less RAM than FreeNAS 8, which is the one we used in this guide!
