The one-way charges of a cross-country move with a rental can be very expensive. If you're primarily moving manageably sized boxes, you might want to compare the cost to ship everything by UPS (or similar parcel service). Books, CDs, and other media can be inexpensively mailed by the postal service as Media Mail. If

@Jwhite1979: LOL, well if you're under the assumption I'm a big VU and Lou fan, you'd be right! ;o) Thanks for the compliment.

I have always wanted to use TrueCrypt, but was discouraged by the fact that you always had to have admin rights if trying to access the thumb drive on a different computer.

I have a difficult time seeing the value of this analysis. It certainly won't have any effect upon my airline choices in the future.

With negative film it was clearly better to overexpose, particularly with black-and-white film. In fact, I would generally not worry about the highlights and simply set my exposure two stops higher than the darkest shadow in which I wanted detail to still be evident (roughly placing those areas in zone 3, for those

I was just going to recommend YourFonts because it worked for me so well way back when, but then I just noticed on their site that they're now charging $9.95/$14.95 depending upon whether or not you download the full character set.

The freeware program Photoscape includes a GIF animator among its many functions.

@pojken: The trimmer I have cuts right along the outside edge of the guide, and since the clear plastic holding strip lets you see the photo, it's quite simple to make cuts precisely along the photo edges without preliminary cutting. I just slide the photo through until only the tiniest bit of the image is visible

For quick, exact cutting I really recommend a good-quality paper trimmer with a sliding blade like this one from Dahle...

SyncMate is nice for syncing contacts and calendar with a google account.

@ncg: Ugh, I guess it's hit and miss then. For the record the last time I flew KLM internationally, the special meals came out first.
