Region Codes have nothing to do with protecting the value chain of new films and everything to do with dividing the market to keep prices higher. Or why else do such films as The Maltese Falcon, Wizard of Oz, and Gone with the Wind (and at least 90% of all films total) have region restrictions?

The Rule of Thirds as a compositional rule actually predates the 4:3 digital standard by several hundred years. (Conventional 35mm film photography had a 3:2 ratio.) Here's the wiki article:

In Germany you would freak your waiter or waitress out with a tip of 15%. 10% max for very good service is plenty. Instead of leaving the tip extra on the table, it's best to just round up the bill a Euro or two and when paying say, "Es stimmt so." If you don't have the exact amount, just say the rounded-up figure and

You get the award for the most ridiculously irrelevant post of the day. Why don't you enlighten us more about Australia's medical system, Mr. "Expert"?

Stink bug soup, anyone? :o)

Swoodoo is the best flight finder I've found in Germany — certainly much better than the German Kayak and Travelocity sites.

Certainly electric can openers are one of the most pointless wastes of both energy and money ever created. Unless you're seriously arthritic or paralyzed, I see no justification for them.

@Himiko: I suspect the explanation is simple: "Wunder" is a commonly understood German word or prefix in most of the English-speaking world (much like "über-" in recent years), whereas "Liste" isn't.

For copying/pasting text without formatting, I use PureText, which is a small Windows program that runs at startup and is activated by a hotkey combination. The big advantage is that it not only works on text being copied from a browser, but also on text from any other application.

The tagging needs to occur when initially saving a file and be available in the open-file dialogues to be really useful, but every step in that direction is welcome.
