He really brought it for the prequels. I remember my mind melting when there was a goddamned ELECTRIC GUITAR?! in the AOTC soundtrack. Padme’s Ruminations and Battle of the Heroes from ROTS are probably my favorites.

Williams authored the soundtrack of three generations worth of films. There was of course the GenX heyday of Star Wars plus Spielberg’s run in the late 70s and early 80s. Then he did it again with Jurassic Park and Home Alone for millennials. Then he did it AGAIN for Harry Potter. Just a staggeringly deep career and

The tinny, high school marching band quality of the Superman II soundtrack was my first hint that something was “wrong” about it, leading me down the rabbithole of finding out about all the behind the scenes shenanigans.

I said above that Empire Strikes Back is his best total work, but the Superman Theme has to be his best single piece of music. It’s beyond iconic. You could play it for someone who had never hears of Superman and they would still somehow say that’s Superman’s Theme.

Yep, TESB is his best collected work. Every “theme” he came up with feels unique and distinct from the other. Yoda’s Theme is whimsical, Imperial March is doom and bombast, Han and Leia is sweeping and majestic, even the menacing oboe rumble that’s Boba Fett’s theme works. Then there’s obsure stuff like “Hyperspace”

“I’ll be back!”

She really seemed to be enjoying herself alot more these last few seasons (haven’t watched the new one yet). But don’t blame her for wanting to move on.

Ford is the same age as my dad, and I get nervous watching my dad walk across the patio after it’s been raining. I just can’t shake that same feeling watching Ford do action sequences. Even 15 years ago in Crystal Skull I was worried about him doing a stunt. “Nooo Harrison don’t do that you could really hurt yourself!”

“We knew lots of kids watched the show, so we decided to fuck up an entire generation by making the monster-in-the-walls and possessed doll episodes.”

Exactly. The return to office position is always “EVERYONE needs to come back because I miss chitchatting with people.” The WFH position is always “Work wherever you want, but I’m staying home because it’s better for me.”

Yeah The Road for me too. There’s a scene at some point in the movie where either the father or the kid is just sobbing uncontrollably and I remember thinking “What am I even doing watching this.”

Wait, so Tesla stock went UP when investors heard Musk potentially might be able to start playing a more direct role in the company again?

My only experience with this show is it being on on mute at a restaurant I was at. The doctor was getting comically, obviously drunk at a bar and somebody came up to talk to him. I looked away for less than a minute and when I looked back a crowd of dudes was stomping the absolute shit out of him on the floor of the

God damn, I think I’m gonna paste this in my About Me section on my Linkedin page.

They set up such an exciting possibility of her going off to a new school and new location at the end of last season, then walked it all back; it was kind of disappointing. Then again if this is the final season it makes sense to end the show on familiar ground rather than starting over again.

Seeing this article reminded me we are way behind on S2, but yeah: we’ll watch and then it’s YET ANOTHER bottle episode, or better yet a two-part bottle episode. So it’s hard to keep up momentum.

Jesus that really does look like Mitch McConnell.

It’s such a formative experience, that first experience you have with something that you realize sucks.

One of the saddest things to me of the new trilogy was seeing how burnt out and jaded all the leads were about it at the end vs how fresh and excited they were going in. It was certainly justified given alot of the toxic shit they had to put up with. But Ridley in particular; she gave the impression she was done with
