I don’t remember its reception either way but it also basically opened right around when Godfather 3 did and anticipation for that was sky high. I suspect they cancelled each other out when it came to awards season.

David Zaslav has tirelessly fought for the value of art over commerce, so we are definitely in good hands here. 

For all its goofiness, “U Talkin’ U2 2 Me” really did nail that their biggest problem is they’ve backed themselves into a corner to where every album they put out has to be HUGE and it really rattles them if it misses. I think they honestly just don’t know what to do anymore.

When I saw them for the Joshua Tree 30th anniversary tour, looking at the crowd I actually thought “Man when did all these old coots start listening to U2? Oh, wait . . . “

Here’s the thing: they always claim they have a whole other album they recorded honest it’ll be out later. Then they never do it. It’s so frustrating.

We showed Labyrinth to our daughter for the first time a few years ago and when the Goblin King first appeared she said “WHO is THAT.” in a tone of voice I’d never heard her use before and don’t really want to think much more about. But yeah.

“The show was shot single-camera and it is frequently lovely to look at.” Gonna disagree there. It was shot with this kind of golden, gauzy glow to it that worked on the TVs of that era but unfortunately HD does it no favors.
