I totally take your point that some of these suggestions are a little TOO charismatic for this gig. But from what I remember about Reading Rainbow, he played it pretty straight and low key. I think he could do this job well.

LeVar Burton is an interesting pick but he has depth and personality that being an MC of a gameshow kind of doesn’t need?  Alex Trebek was more notorious for being the sort of stern teacher with a heart of gold than deeply charismatic.  I would love to see Burton get it because he’s a good man and deserves every job
