He pretends the set is over at the 22-minute mark. I'm guessing that doing a 45-minue set, then editing it down to 22 was planned. but maybe not. If you watch the for tv version and pay close attention to the way his hair is awkwardly arranged, you can get a good idea of how chopped up the special is.

The unedited version of his 22-minute phony balony stand-up special for Comedy Central is interesting to watch. He's playing for an audience that probably would have booed him off if they had payed to be there, and doesn't hit his stride until after the 22 minutes is up.
