I’ve seen much anti-truck rhetoric on Jalopnik as of late. It’s not relegated to this truck. Now, defending this particular truck is probably not the hill to die on for anyone who wants to highlight what appears to be a growing anti-truck sentiment among the Jalopnik commentariat. That said, we’re not discussing a Read more

Last time I checked, not every Asian on the planet is a member of the Chinese Communist Party. Maybe this guy didn’t get the memo. Anyway... if you’re CCP, GTFO of America; if you’re simply another everyday Asian, we need you, and thank you for being great Americans.

I’m going to stand up for some truth right now. Otherwise, I’d be complicit in a growing pile of particularly odorous BS. Plus, I’ll be in the grays forever anyway, so IDAF how much self-righteous, sanctimonious haterade rains down upon me for the following. I really do already know exactly and everything all y’all Read more

We had a Datsun pickup like this one, same vintage in red. The five-barrel odometer had rolled over who knows how many times. Rust killed that pickup. The guy from the junkyard that ultimately took it off our hands later told us they tried to kill the engine, but gave up before it did.

The websites formerly known collectively as Gawker are a fascinating echo chamber of bile from the left wing. You are absolutely correct. At this point, these lockdowns are unsustainable and unnecessary. Other countries are doing it better. Ironically, the people most vocal and self-righteous about how poorly our Read more

Oh, boy. Guess we’d better ban Jeep Wranglers now. Civilians have driven them and the vehicles’ direct ancestors for 70 years or so, but that doesn’t matter. We’re woke, baby, and soon — very, very soon — we’ll finally make life so safe, that life won’t be worth living anymore. Yeah!

Is this really what we want? Almost every science fiction horror film about a dystopian future features robots overseeing, spying on, or impeding human movement and behavior. Are we in the future now?

Exactly. It does not appear that Ford’s C-suite deserves this much compensation. However, the issue for the company is a paltry profit and what appears to be nearly unnavigable debt. The entire executive team could work for free. Perhaps they should, to show solidarity for companywide morale. This would still be Read more

The buyer needs to add another couple grand to the price for the pricey, complicated head gasket repair, or the seller needs to take this Outback out back to shoot it dead.

The actual numbers for this overhyped pandemic are really making the sky-is-falling our-self-proclaimed betters such as yourself look pretty silly.

Good correction — it’s a cab-forward, not cab-over, driving position.

So why should the Corvair have shouldered the brunt of the criticism? The best you can say about Nadler is that he was disingenuous. Was it his unwarranted bias toward GM in particular? Who knows?

Aaaaaannnnd.... nowhere in the comments section do we see anything regarding whether this particular governor’s actions, in a non-hot spot state, are justified or in sound rationale commensurate to the threat in her region. Also, she pulled some bullshit earlier, a couple weeks ago, and had to backtrack. Sigh... what Read more

Spoken just like a good little lefty. Che would like you. And that’s good, cuz if he didn’t — say, if you were gay, black, or disagreed with his politics — he’d have you killed. Actually, in your case, it might not be too bad of an outcome. I know. I know. I’m speaking in tangential abstractions your feeble ego and Read more

I voted NP. It’s the perfect work truck for what-the-hell-why-not money — especially as a weekend hauler. I live in the Northeast on a one-sixth-mile driveway. If the advertised vehicle had 4x4, I’d be all over it and eventually swap in a V8 and beef up the gearbox and rear diff once (and if... a bit if) this V6 every Read more

It’s an uncommonly clean, apparently well-cared-for example of a row-your-own big Bimmer predating the brand’s descent into madness, silliness, and unreliableness. That is one nicely preserved specimen. It’s prices about $5K too high. CP

Could this be why GM “stupidly” specified a poorly engineered design for the head studs? They figured nobody would need a new Caddy any time soon. Of course, that's a shitty way to rebuild a brand.
