I’m surprised Luca Blight from Suikoden 2 did not make the list. Maybe that title is too niche to make top 100? That was the boss that immediately sprang to mind. He is so ridiculously powered that the battle seems like one of those story-battles that you’re supposed to lose...until you see the game over screen pop up.

I am really bad at the Chase the UFO bonus levels in Sonic Mania. I’ve somehow managed to get through 6 of them, but I’m still missing that damn red Chaos Emerald! So I’ll be attempting that, as well as some of the blue ball bonus levels (I unlocked the BONUS bonus levels in the Extras section)

For some reason, today I had a hankering to listen to J-pop, which I was really into for a while in the 00's. I decided to listen to Ayumi Hamasaki’s discography, which...I forgot what music factories a lot of these pop stars are. I’m on her 5th studio album, Rainbow, and I’m only 3 years into her career.

This was a good season, but I’d hesitate to rank it over seasons 2 and 3. It leaned a little heavily into drama, which is great, but I feel like much of the comedy was sacrificed. A couple of the episodes were also maybe the weakest since season 1.

The screaming and crying from small Bea when her doll was thrown into the fire was too much (,man!) for me.

Gotta hand it to Jessica Biel for being such a great sport and roasting herself. I did a spit-take at the “attempted actress” line.

“You piece of shit” is BoJack’s version of “You Stupid Bitch.” Yet another parallel between this show and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

I’m curious how the remake approaches the soundtrack. I recall M2's Gameboy soundtrack being surprisingly atmospheric and dissonant. Does the remake go for a 1:1 remix or do they do something different?

Wasn’t Todd’s ethnicity what spurred on that whole prison gang subplot from season 1? He was courted by both Latin Kings, and KKK, and the KKK guys kept commenting on how he did things like a white guy.

Between that and the lyrics for “We Sink” I’d certainly be careful to keep myself off Lauren Mayberry’s shit list.

Did you ever get into a battle in an old-school RPG and find it so difficult that you figured it was a story-driven supposed-to-lose battle when it really wasn’t? The one that comes to mind for me is the final Luca Blight battle in Suikoden II. Man, what a spike in difficulty that battle was.

Speaking of Bloodborne, I’m actually going to be starting that one up this weekend. I’m already in love with the setting, so I’m looking forward to seeing what else it’s got going on.

Janet Jackson’s “Son of a Gun” is pretty scathing, which is fitting since it samples “You’re so vain.”

Good to see another person picked a Fiona Apple song. Hell, she has a number of scathing take down songs, but the harshest one for me is “Limp.” And since it seems to be toward some kind of abuser, I hope I can never relate to the lyrics.

I wonder if it’s a rule with the writers that the penultimate episode has to be the most devastating of the season? And so far, each season has shown us how much lower Bojack can get even when we thought he already hit rock bottom.

I missed the faint “Laura?” at the end of Part 18 when I first saw it. Now that I know it was there, and not only that, it was a clip of Sarah Palmer from the Pilot, it kind of threw my entire interpretation and theory into whack.

I agree. I interpreted the sequence as the atom bomb, being such a powerful force of destruction and “the evil that men do,” was the catalyst that opened the doors between realms, allowing the evil spirits of the Black Lodge to enter “our” realm.

“If you’re lucky, you’ll never speak to me again.” That line was hilarious and chilling at the same time. Angela Diaz is not one to be trifled with!

I like that each Persona entry (from 3 onward, that is) has its own style while still being distinctly Shoji Meguro. Persona 3 had a more hip-hop sound, Persona 4 was very poppy, and Persona 5 has a whole acid jazz thing going on.

A good friend of mine is moving to Germany on Monday, so there won’t be much time for gaming this weekend. It’s okay, I really haven’t made any progress in Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. I did beat Sonic Mania, but I’m cleaning up collecting medallions and Chaos Emeralds, and then I’m going to play it again as Knuckles…
