The 8 speed is not great from a performance perspective. It is designed for fuel economy with a very short 1st gear.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the 6 speed when properly tuned. I have it in my Polestar and it is great. Polestar changed the programming on it. I definitely prefer it over the new 8 Speed.
