We have our safety regulations so backwards. We regulate personal safety but care little about mass safety. i.e. you can’t drive that, YOU could be killed in an accident? Versus - Of course you can tow a 40 foot trailer with your 12 foot tall truck with no prior experience because YOU will be okay if you crash.

This is very dumb. The smallest state should absolutely embrace the smallest trucks.  It’s called branding, you dummies!

The door handles of most new EVs. They don’t need to be like that. Stop reinventing the wheel. Mach-E, why? Ioniq 5, why? Cadillac Lyriq, why? (Ok they’re fixing the Lyriq handles) Every Tesla, why? Uber had to start sending an alert letting riders know how to open the door handles if the uber was a Model 3/Y. Why can

No, that’s the whole point people have been trying to make — monitoring FSD is not driving, it’s monitoring. Monitoring automated systems (as opposed to just doing the task) is something humans are bad at — there’s decades of research demonstrating this, which makes the whole concept of ‘supervised FSD’ a bad idea.

Nope. Not buying it. The confederate flag is a symbol of hate, and making it fun and appealing to kids as part of a TV show is disgusting. Especially when the Daughters of the Confederacy worked so hard to sell an alternate version of history where southerners were also anti-authoritarian, and their treason was just

Although low-end torque feels great and allows for excellent acceleration, hopefully this motor will reward you for running it up to redline (in more than just sound).

Why is Elon Musk obsessed with the idea that humans are bad drivers? By all accounts, our driving abilities are remarkable and incredibly difficult to replicate. (Maybe *he’s* just a terrible driver, and he thinks “I’m a genius, so *obviously* no-one’s better at this than me...”)

I mean, it’s bad enough that this happened once to this person, but after that one time (which would be enough for me, BTW), wouldn’t you, as the owner, think “maybe I shouldn’t engage this FSD mode near a train crossing, as it almost ended me the last time I did?”

There is plenty of fault to go around here. You can’t call something “Full Self-Driving” that can’t see flashing crossing lights and a damned TRAIN across the road. And the driver is a complete and utter moron for not immediately taking control. My guess is that they were not really paying attention, because for dammed

Nice try gas cucks, clearly the FSD is planning to ramp BETWEEN CARS check and mate

I’m not normally one to defend cops, but in this case it seems like Scottie felt entitled to driving outside the limits of the road to get around emergency responders at the site of a FATAL ACCIDENT. Even if I decide to try something like that, if there is any indication that a paramedic, fire, search and rescue or

Man, this is conflicting. Of course, ACAB. But... maybe this will get some of the rich aholes to see how others are routinely treated by the police.

Seriously. The number of wildly positive reviews that say something like “I only had to intervene twice when the car tried to make an illegal left and after it killed a pedestrian” is astounding.

Or the glowing reviews just come from Tesla fans that are willing to ignore obvious deficiencies because they’re obsessed with a brand.

Came here to say that. To justify a 8k$ expense, I’d feel the system should have demonstrated its ability to really drive all by itself and not require an intervention every few minutes, maybe not even every few hours.

Friend test drove a Tesla with FSD a few weeks ago. The system needed multiple interventions during the 15-minute test drive. At one point the Tesla salesman even suggestedturn it off and just enjoy the feeling of driving”.

Saw one in the Costco parking lot yesterday. They look so much worse in person.

I really dislike the constant attempts at establishing some sort of dichotomy and incompatibility between carbon-use reduction and carbon capture.  We need to do both, period.

“I served 31 years, I was an Army doctor, I trained as a Navy flight surgeon, I served with the 7th Special Forces Group, I served with the 160th. I served six tours.”

“And everybody knows what’s going on in this country with fentanyl and child trafficking and rape. Terrible stuff.””

Ah yes, those child traffickers who famously return children to their homes safely.
