I'm not fully aware of the intricacies of the SB chipsets, but considering switchable discrete graphics setups are available to other manufacturers, I have a hard time believing that a similar implementation is out of the question for Apple. The biggest restriction I see is that since the switch occurs at a driver

I don't (expect them to keep the C2D). I expect them to keep on their game (hi, nice job with the AMD graphics in your Intel iMacs) so that it's not just the design and manufacturing techniques that differentiate them from other machines (disregarding the OS for a moment). For its time, the Nvidia graphics in the MBAs

To be honest, one step in the right direction (bringing back the backlit keyboard) won't forgive two in the wrong (removing 'capable' graphics for 'adequate' Sandy Bridge').

I'm strangely OK with Steinway getting into the speaker game. It's not like their pianos are getting any cheaper...

Unfortunately I have none, because I can't think of anything else that allows for the aforementioned browsing (except maybe p7zip, but I haven't tried that).

I'm trying to get speech to text working across my systems so that I can eschew the keyboard altogether, but so far that's not really working so well. I have a mild condition of tennis elbow, and using a keyboard for over 15 minutes just exacerbates the problem, but the Goldtouch looks to be one of my best options,

No love for zipeg?

Full responsibility will be 18 dollars extra, and that doesn't cover the cost of the Goldtouch keyboard.

We do, we really do! You should come back more often. 'Arrangements' can be made...

So, how long until they put a screen on a knife and call it the iPhone Air?

From this shot I can see the similarity to the F1, especially in that color. I fully approve.

Pogo stick. I mean, really, a springy stick? Single-peg-drive coilover? It's hard to fathom, it makes no sense, but it qualifies.

The headlights make it look more like a Jetta/Bora though. It took me a whole day to find the headlights.

I have a feeling Thunderbolt will be the new FireWire. It will never gain the ubiquity of USB, and remain a niche for people who are basically 'stuck' with it (I'm looking at you, video editors).

I've been going over the first few frames of this video and it seems to me that the rear right wheel is out of whack even before the car hits the bank. You can see the wheel mid-air in the 2nd second of the video (before the car lands) and it's already crooked, which makes me think this could be mechanical...

I have a feeling the refresh will be a serious step back regarding raw performance. That being said, it might add an hour or two to the battery life, though why anyone would want more than 7 on a machine of this caliber I would not know. The light gaming the current machine is capable of will be a thing of the past.

Fully agreed, yet I fear that will not be the case...

Unfortunately that's not the case with HTC and its recent devices. There is, unfortunately, no way to circumvent the encrypted bootloader without turning off the security check for the e-mmc internal memory. Basically if you're on Froyo, the psneuter exploit will give you temproot but you still can't flash a custom

Unfortunately Sense sticks around. You basically merely replace the launcher while the lockscreen, menus etc. are all still sense (and all still loaded on boot). The only real workaround is to have an S-OFF (that's Security Off, basically it means the core memory is not write protected) phone with root access on which

I know, right. Even if they don't, considering there's the 4C it would make more sense to chop the roof off of that rather than base it on the FWD Giulia or (shudder) a Sebring...
