Fly-head air cleaner on a carbureted small block chevy. Over time the foam deteriorates (or with one good backfire just gets obliterated) and little bits fall into the engine. Thankfully caught it before too much of it got sucked up but man, what a terrible design.

I recently read an article that was a couple of years old, which basically explained why rev hang is just going to be a thing on small, turbocharged engines with manual transmissions. Apparently it’s an emissions related “feature”.
NASA uses the same old-but-proven tech with their satellites and probes for the same reasons.
As I’ve said in other articles, this industry is ripe for a large scale industrial manufacture to come in and wreck up the place.

Bed toppers on pickups. I know... by putting a topper on the bed, you just make a van with a higher load floor. Whatever. I like the way pickups look with a topper. Especially regular cab, 2WD versions of boxy 1990's Ford pickups. My grandpa had a long bed, regular cab F-150 Eddie Bauer 2wd with Green over Tan paint…
