Just another point of view...

My husband and I are both veterans. For years we’ve often thought that this crap about standing for the flag/anthem or putting your hand over your heart to “prove” your patriotism is just phony balony crap that Americans (particularly white Americans) do to pat themselves on the back and

I’d rather they cast people who are very good at acting and can pull off the character than someone who just looks like the real person.

I’ve been looking forward to seeing this for months. I told my husband I don’t care how much NFL is playing this weekend, we are going to see this movie!

Teen Mom 2 is my guilty pleasure and it drives me nuts how he can’t seem to ask them any hard questions or hold their feet to the fire and he can’t even educate or convince any of them to use birth control consistently and correctly. He’s useless.

I’m excited.

I loved the books and the (first two) movies as a kid, and would watch the movies anytime it was replayed on PBS, which was fairly often.

I recently re-watched the series on PBS and I don’t know if it’s just me or not, but the second movie seemed so poorly written that I found it painful to watch.

Did this kid learn English exclusively from watching tapes of George W. Bush? Or did he just attend the same schools and daddy paid for his diplomas?

Isn’t this somewhat typical of conservatives? Whatever story might come out about them or their candidate, they turn the rumor around on Democrats or Democratic Candidates, throw heaps of fuel onto the story and then blow it up into the most ridiculous story ever.

Case in point: Birtherism. A few people quietly

I hope he gets eaten alive by bullet ants, or whatever large jawed species of hive-mind insects live in their area.

i will gleefully go see this on opening weekend and drag everyone else I can find along with me. I’ve marked my calendar already. January 13.

I do like @Midnight

He’s not in the same league- for white people. I guarantee you there were a lot of people of color that laughed harder at The Nightly Show than they ever did at Colbert, Stewart, or Bee. The fact that the latter can continue with their careers while Wilmore and his predecessors (W. Kamau Bell, e.g.) get cancelled

Don’t ever go back and look at the kitchens for restaurants. We like to think they are often inspected and held to a strict standard, but... no.

There had been a rumor they were separated, but I’m almost certain I heard they’ve reunited and are actually engaged now.

I read the headline and my jaw dropped, but then my first thought was, “Well, at least he didn’t murder her to stop her from going.” And then i felt sad that I think calling in a bomb threat on your girlfriend is rather mild on the scale of awful things abusive men do to their wives/girlfriends.

Then I read the

I see people complaining that when they were kids their grandparents watched them and now their parents are too selfish to watch their kids. But from my perspective, when our generation was kids there weren’t the bizarre expectations, either. So many of today’s parents have their kids diagnosed with everything under

I found this online just now.

I noticed this when looking for a LeapReader Junior for a little girl last year —one was green and called “Scout” and one was purple and called “Violet.” Violet was a few dollars more expensive with no additional features. I just bought Scout since it was a neutral color anyway.

A dumb friend of mine alerted me to this movie earlier this week, saying, “You love cats! Here’s a movie you’ll love!” and for a second I thought it might be interesting. Then I watched the trailer and it was a definite no.

I did, however, see Keanu in the theater. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t horrible but it
