This is not targeted directly at ticket resellers. It affects anyone who makes more than $600 online in a year, including eBay sales, potentially Venmo and PayPal transfers, etc. (though I’m not sure how they’ll track who’s just paying for bills or reimbursing for a meal and who’s making a profit in Venmo).

So they just cut off your power with no alternative?

It happened where I live.

This seems like a weird comment. You need to have killed or almost been killed to have an opinion on the merits of pacifism?

What you’re encountering is realism.  Just like in real life, a pacifist will do fine until they meet someone who genuinely wants to hurt them.  :)

Can I have a job writing for Jalopnik if I write a piece about how my Buick doesn’t drive like a Ferrari?

What makes you think that California, or any state, would be better at running an insurance company than insurance companies?  The odds are very slim.

Insurance companies are not a charity. If California’s regulations do not allow a profit from returns on investing the premiums, no sane insurance company would do business there.

I’m not sure if that would actually lower the cost. Auto insurance is much more expensive in Canada, where in many provinces the government does sell insurance. I grew up in BC where auto insurance is essentially a government monopoly, and insurance premiums there are far higher than what I currently pay in California.

I think when it was envisioned, Star Wars was definitely in a better spot IP wise and the economy was in much better place.

I had zero interest in FFXVI, but tried out the demo just to confirm that it wasn’t for me.

I can see Reddit allowing others who volunteer to moderate to take over groups which have said they are closing for good.

The reddits are not owned by the moderators, but by Reddit.

3rd party apps may go bye bye, but Reddit will survive.

Or even if the parties stop throwing companies, you have a bunch of people traveling into town for an entertainment event. Bars and clubs where all of these risks exists anyways are just going to be that much fuller regardless.

I’m sorry that had happened to you, and that the game’s imagery made you uncomfortable because of it.

You know, considering how awful and intrusive Kotaku’s ads are on mobile, I think it’s kind of hilarious to see you calling out what is fairly benign (albeit also still pretty crappy) compared to your own site’s ads, which are massive and page engulfing.

This reeks of urban legend. Nobody seems to have any proof of such a thing EVER happening, save one guy who saw a little smoke coming off of his upholstery and stopped it.

Not sure what we expect for a basic data entry job. These are not programming positions involving years of university education. It’s literally supplying knowledge to the AI which any grown adult already knows.

It would be nice if we instead twist the knife and kill franchise laws altogether.

Wait, Iron Brigade is coming to GAMEPASS? Thats an old 360 game. Is gamepass getting old 360 games now, or is this a new, remake that I just havent heard of?

I feel like the various PAX’s have largely replaced E3. I always see lots of announcements of new games whenever they have one.
