Texas isn’t even close, at least in the major urban areas.

Lived in Maryland my entire life, and driving basically anywhere else is a pleasure. I was in Houston recently, and I couldn’t believe how calm everyone was.

I’m down, but gonna need more details.

I don’t even remember doing an interview at the airport. And, yeah, it’s a huge time saver. I travel 5-6 times a year (maybe more, now that I think of it), and being able to just toss your stuff on the conveyor belt and stroll through a metal detector is almost like pre-9/11 travel convenience.

It absolutely does, and it lets you know your score and how it got there, too. I drive super carefully, and it’s cheap. If you don’t drive so careful, it’s not as great a deal.

I had the same sticker shock. Went to Tesla insurance, now I’m paying a bit under a grand a year.

lol yes. I have $10m in contracts I manage and my take-home is ~$150k, therefore there must be some sort of horrible scandal going on, right?

I’m actually stunned that marketing let it get out the door with that name. Like... Judas has been used in a lot of mediums as a vehicle for anti-Semitism. You sure you want to use that for your game’s title?

Yeah, that’s the “range extender” concept where you essentially bolt a motor onto an EV to charge it continuously.

I’ve always wondered whether one-pedal driving contributes to this at all. While regenerative engine braking isn’t tough on brakes, I can sort of imagine that constant braking is rough on tires.

I agree, but if they’re in an apartment, their options can be extremely limited.

That seems pretty reasonable to me, and is perhaps a better way of moving forward than “lol, we’re slicing portion sizes but not prices”.

Plenty of people will indeed be violent in custody. That’s not an excuse for being violent in custody. Is it really so difficult to believe that a few people with severe mental health issues are a danger to themselves and others, and need involuntary in-patient treatment? The premise that the best idea is to

Pretty much. The idea that “it’s just hacking” is short-sighted and foolish when we live in a society where connected systems can literally be life-or-death affairs. Yeah, this time he hacked R* this time - but what if it had been a hospital? If he’s not capable of remorse and exhibited violence in custody, he’s a

Man, I did not know about the Smart Balance thing, but it explains so much. I bought it from Costco about a year ago and literally thought it had gone bad.

I bought a Model 3 recently. When I got my invoice from Tesla, I was blown away; it was just the car’s price plus sales tax and titles fees. That was it. No bullshit destination charge, no invented fees, no last minute shenanigans, just what I needed to pay, and no pressure. Say whatever else you want about Tesla, the

Yeah, that guy’s experience was interesting to parse. You run a million miles on a normal car, you’re going to break some stuff, too. I’m OK with 3 battery swaps, but the motor situation is somewhat more worrisome.

Battery degradation is the elephant in the room. The manufacturers will eventually need to confront that problem via warranty and making the battery cells more individuallyreplaceable instead of just shrugging their shoulders. 2.3% degradation per year means you lose 23% of your range in ten years, and that is

TBH, 100% shocked the PS Portal is selling out at all. It’s not a very compelling product, and I say this as a guy who’s owned every Playstation and PSP/Vita.

I was just there for a business trip in October. The traffic situation sucked, but TBH, not much worse than the DC area on a normal work day. I walked around the strip itself in the evening and... it was fine? A little bit of construction to dodge, but nothing outrageous.
