Sadly I can't prevent my plague-stricken coworkers from showing up to work when they're deathly ill and spreading the germs around. Everyone wants to share.

This is depressing and I resent it.

I don't think studies should be *ignored* because they're funded by an entity with a vested interest in the outcome. But I do think they should be viewed with a higher degree of skepticism.

You could try just talking with your better half. Waiting for our halves to notice things is not a great strategy because sometimes they just don't notice and then we get cranky with them for not noticing. If you tell them about this new thing you're doing and ask if they'll do it with you, maybe they will. Meh?

I like to read decluttering books and blogs for inspiration, and am sometimes able to ensnare hubby with my enthusiasm. Currently reading "It's all too much" by Peter Walsh and it deals a lot with family clutter / sorting through clutter problems together.

I am already using something kinda like that, this 6 knob hanger thinger that hooks on the top of the door. I think I will have to build a custom coat rack type thing.

I nearly sprung for a NeatDesk until I read all the negative reviews on Amazon. Yikes.

That makes complete sense and I know you're right. I've already collected a fair bit of the guilt clutter in boxes and am working up the nerve to get rid of it. But still lots more to go.

Same here.

I wish I could figure out how to delete all the super old garbage out there from old inactive accounts on message boards, communities, newsgroups, ICQ, etc. I can't delete or cancel anything because I don't know logins anymore and can't get logins because they were connected to long-dead email addresses.

Another major trouble area is "guilt clutter." E.g., the books that I've been lugging from apartment to apartment and will probably never get around to reading but I can't get rid of them because I haven't read them yet. Etc. Anything that I should realistically get rid of because I don't use it, but I don't get

One of my problem areas for clutter is the worn-but-could-be-worn-again clothes. They're not clean so I don't want to put them back into the closet. But they're not really "dirty" yet so they aren't ready for the laundry basket. Generally pants and sweaters. I end up piling them all into a designated laundry

Desk paper is my downfall too. One thing that is helping (thought not fixing) the problem is a 3-tiered paper tray, with trays labelled "do it", "read it", and "file it". When I just used one inbox it always ended up overflowing with paper that never gets looked at again.

Oh my god people do not duct tape your feet! The reason that duct tape is so good at killing warts is because it suffocates them. If you put duct tape on healthy skin for too long it will suffocate it to death too. I saw this first hand when hiking; a girl had put duct tape across the backs of her heels because

I have not had good luck finding a mascara that doesn't make my eyes feel crappy. I bought some organic hypoallergenic crap and it smells so weird and doesn't feel any better. Any suggestions?

what is grapeseed oil supposed to do around your eyes?

I don't get it either. I am all about Flashdance.

Personally, I find that other people's children are the best birth control.

Why wouldn't you go to a doctor?

I interpreted this video as this one individual woman's hair travelling through these different times and styles, not as something meant to be an exhaustive record of several hundred years of hairdos of women of all cultures and socioeconomic classes. That would be a totally awesome - but massive - project.
