I had no idea what all this Rebecca Black stuff was about, so I went to youtube to watch the video. That was a mistake; I think at least 17% of my brain cells just committed suicide.

yesterday a man held the door open for me (insert awkward walk-jog here), and since it was a double set of doors, i got to the other set first, so i then held the door open for him. no biggie. occasionally i've run into guys who won't let me /a woman hold the door open for them. always found that strange. don't

I can't believe that Rush Limbaugh used the word "Gaia".

I am all over this. Sizeable list of MPs and local politicians that I'd like to put on a bus to the US.

this comment is so much win. and god i miss lafayette.

That's what I was just thinking. Reading about shit like this just makes me think that an asteroid should obliterate the earth.

I do think that society is more horrified by a mother molesting her own child (because mothers are not supposed to do that kind of thing). It's really not talked about even though it does happen. It's expected that men are the predators. Maybe if the parent had been a man they wouldn't have gotten 20 years because

that's awful and scary; thank god she didn't swallow the needle.

@coppertree: i don't think that separate school boards are available to groups of any faith (hence the provincial election clusterfuck a few years back...Tory was promoting publicly funding multi-faith education).

@Tirannie: I fully agree. But no one has the political balls to actually do something with that hot potato.

thank you so much for translating. this video just broke my heart and used up all my kleenex. we have two dogs (one of whom i am clinging to for comfort after watching this).

sweet jesus, i nearly choke when i get a big chunk of ginger in my stir fry; i sure as hell wouldn't want a big hunk of it up my ass! i will file that under "fascinating/horrifying tidbits of information"

they're out there, but the crazies are just louder (and have a mind-boggling fan base of enthusiastic, loud crazies).

what gets me too is the multiple institutional failures. 'surely someone else will do something about this...this is not our jurisdiction/role...we don't have the authority'...etc. and just so many "if onlys". just heartbreaking.

thanks for posting that; i hadn't seen it before. chilling.

fellow clinically depressed person gives this comment a high five.

that girl went to my university...i am still haunted by the missing posters that were up in my building. so tragic :(

wow...so much denim. so many belts. 80s fashion man...

i confess, i am one of those neurotic victorian types that's totally freaked out by and avoidant of anything involving asses.
