Absolutely nailed it with the line changing analogy; it’s the first thing I thought of during the replay at the time it happened. There’s no difference between the two scenarios.
“Or put it this way: should Michael Phelps have been banned from swimming because he was, biologically, an unholy man-porpoise hybrid?”
I don’t want to be the highlight truther, but Faulk had that puck in his hand a long time (counted ~40 frames so 1.3 seconds) which could have been called a penalty.
I feel the same. All people are born with arms, not all people are born with internal testes that affect their hormones in such a way.
I honestly don’t know what to think.
And Rosebud is a sled.
Given that the shove looked pretty damn intentional, and it was the direct cause of an injury, it definitely looked like the Carolina player would get hit with a five-minute major penalty.
You’re not wrong - fifty cross checks to the kidneys like that go unpenalized in every playoff game. Hockey refs have a bad habit of penalizing consequences instead of actions, so the fact Oshie fell down and hit the boards awkwardly is the only reason this was a penalty at all.
“Keuchel is probably about a 2.5 - 3 win pitcher so he would have been a little underpaid...”
Stewart is probably going to miss the entirety of the upcoming season
At this point, I can only believe it is trolling.
This is the correct take, yet Deadspin for some reason feels compelled to run with this narrative that it is all the Pelicans’ fault. It’s myopic and has been thoroughly debunked. If people want to criticize the Pelicans for not building a good enough roster around Davis, reasonable minds can disagree about that. But…
All of this information is obvious, and I don’t know why this article clearly ignores all of it just to stand by Deadspin’s pro-labor (as long as that labor is millionaire athletes) agenda.
The guy goes “I demand you blow up this team midseason and wreck the future of the franchise by not being able to get close to fair value for me, because I demand to go right now during the season instead of after it” and the people responsible for the toxic environment are the executives who quite correctly told him…
I was actually in for my annual physical yesterday. No lumps on my balls and my triglycerides are 37 mg/dL. The doctor did ask whether or not I’ve been depressed in the last two weeks. Fortunately the checkup was prior to reading this post. Maybe depressed isn’t the right word. I guess now I’m more of a GRITTY REALIST…
Good thing you’re here to inform all the idiots.
Yes its a commercial done by a beer company, however outside of the logo and the post from the company, no beer was shilled. I thought it was a great commercial. Thanks for trying to take the life out of something wholesome, but you failed. Try again, maybe?
Holy cow you’re insufferable with this one. Gatorade, Jordan/Nike and countless other brands have showcased a player’s charitable efforts to celebrate a player’s accomplishments on and off the field at the end of their career (Jeter, Manning, etc.). Are we really going to start criticizing brands for making these…
I love the commercial. I am also mature and cognizant enough to separate the swill beer from the commercial. I imagine most viewers are, too.
